NOMADS
If you’re playing Elden Ring, add AIEguild to your group passwords and enjoy whatever that adds to the game.
WoW
AIE’s raid teams are chomping their way through the newly released Sepulcher of the First Ones. Kiddie Aggro downed 7/11 bosses on Normal difficulty and 1 boss (aka Pokeball) on Heroic. Go Team!
Hell Froze Over (Alliance side) defeated 3/11 bosses on Normal while Behind the Curve and Filthy Casuals are at 2/11 bosses. Our Teams are recruiting so if anyone is interested check the Discord #raidteam-recruitment or #raidteam-news channels.
Next weekend as part of AIE Con 2022, Gustytail will be leading Trial of Style runs on Sunday March 20. This twice a year event is a chance to show off your favorite fashions while judging everyone else’s look.
WoW Classic
We have a small group that gets together on most Wednesday nights (and sometimes Sundays) to knock out group quests and/or do dungeons. AIE in The Burning Crusade on Mankrik is a quiet place to be and a nice server. If that sounds good to you, or you’d like to level up to get ready for Wrath, we have bags in the guild bank for you
SWTOR
One of our Operations teams, TACO, has room for 1 full time DPS player. They run on the Imperial side on Sunday nights at 8:30 Eastern No experience or gear required. Our other Operations teams are full, but frequently need fill-ins. We have teams running on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights. It’s always worth checking on those nights to see if there are openings if you feel the need for a little raiding.
We are still settling into the Legacy of the Sith expansion. With the new content, story skips, gearing tracks and other new features, it’s a lot to process. Feel free to ask questions in the swtor discord channel and join us on Tuesday nights where we make progress together.
Maellung is planning a return of Friday Night Flashpoints
ESO
Cool things the guild has been doing:
– Public dungeons, hunting world bosses, and clearing zones of Skyshards.
– Trials!!! The last two weeks we’ve bravely gone in to 12 person content with 10-11 people and were successful in both killing bosses and having fun.
– If you are interested in running dungeons for pledges we have two dungeon groups that occasionally need someone to fill in. Check out the Undaunted Enclave channel in Discord for more information.
Things planned or coming up for the guild:
– Trials on nights we have 12 people online for MFNs
– The new DLC dungeons leading to High Isle come out on March 14th for PC and we will be grouping up to run them for MFNs the week they release.
FFXIV
The FFXIV Chapter has lots of stuff going on and we’d love you to be a part of it.
First off, a reminder that the suspension of new game purchases has been lifted. Furthermore, if you just wanted to check out the game on its free trial, well good news everyone! The free trial has been resumed! So, now you can check out everything that FFXIV has to offer! Come for the adventure, dungeons, and loot, stay for the pretty glamours!
In game, we have a few events to bring up. Starting March 14th, the yearly event “Little Ladies’ Day” starts up. If you happened to be listening to our voices after Tuesday, go to Ul’dah, Steps of Nald and start up the yearly event. It changes from year to year, with new rewards every year. If you happen to be reading the show notes, here is the link -> Little Ladies’ Day 2022 | FINAL FANTASY XIV, The Lodestone. If you want to see the link, check the show notes at aie-guild.org.
Also starting up on Tuesday, the 14th, The Moogle Treasure Trove! Get the Irregular Tomestones from doing various activities in the game, and you can trade them in for some cosmetics that may no longer be available or difficult to get on your own. Again, if you are reading the show notes, here’s the link. Moogle Treasure Trove the Hunt for Scripture | FINAL FANTASY XIV, The Lodestone. (Visit the aie-guild.org to see the link!) This event will run until the launch of patch 6.1. Speaking of which…
Patch 6.1 is on the horizon! While we don’t have an exact date, we do have “mid-April” as an approximate time frame. A whole slew of new things, such as more MSQ, dungeons, trials, Trials (like beast tribes but with a more respectful name), the return of Hildibrand (Abo’s note: YEAAAAAAH!), new Ultimate trial, and likely the most interesting change is the Improvements to the ARR 2.0 quests. Some people just don’t like group content. We get it and totally understand if you want to run completely solo. Now, AIE will be here for you, as we always have been. But, if you just want to log on, do your own thing, and be able to run dungeons as a solo player, the “Trust” system is going to be extended out to the base 2.0 game. This means any dungeons or trials that come up, you can chose to run them with a group of story relevant NPCs similar to the trust system that was started up in Shadowbringers and Endwalker.
There’s much more patch content new to talk about, so hopefully the AIE Podcast will have us on shortly (wink:wink) to talk about it in more detail.
In FC news, we are running multiple events over the week. Map Nights, Saturday nights at 9:30 EST, is still a hit and still has room for you. It’s fun, casual content, with extreme rewards for lining those Gil coffers. We do ask that you have completed the MSQ or at least unlocked all of the zones. You do not need to bring a treasure map, but it is always apricated if you do. If you do bring a map, we are looking for the “Kumbhiraskin” maps, as they are made for a group and has the chance to spawn the bonus portals.
For the FC buffs, remember to activate the Heat of Battle 3 buffs on the weekends. We “cook” up the grade 3 buffs during the week so that we can get that extra bump in XP on the weekends. Any one with the “member” rank or higher can refresh buffs or invite new people to the FC for that matter.
Remember, Discord is usually the best place to get a hold of the FFXIV member of AIE. So come on down, say hello, and we can help you get setup in the exciting adventures of FFXIV!
STO
The fleet is making another big step forward as the Fabricator is upgrading to tier V. This is the final project for the Engineering branch of the Starbase.
Science branch is closing in being able to unlock it’s final tier V project as well. And that will make all sections of the Starbase Tier V.
The colony is still moving along nicely with it’s projects.
STO has started a red alert event. But as this is a short event, likely going to have an announcement of the next event soon. (Probably this week)
We have Fleet Fun night on Thursdays at 11pm Eastern. Nikodas and Grebog host Fleet Action Report live at twitch.tv/grebog every Monday at 11pm Eastern. This next Monday we will be checking back in on the new character challenge we have been running.
GW2
End of dragons is here!
We unlocked the Cantha Guild Hall this past week, and we need your help to upgrade and decorate it. We are looking for people that want to make our guild hall a home by decorating it, and we need help acquiring the materials to upgrade the hall.
Currently we are working on upgrading the tavern which will allow us to have better guild wide buffs. We are in need of Empty Kegs, or the materials to craft them, (See Pinned post in discord). We also need bottles of Elonian Wine (or the gold to purchase them), and lots of Elder wood planks, Mithril Bars and Varies Leather Squares.
Jehdai will be looking at getting strikes going once more people get through the story. Mandatory Fun Nights are Mondays at
LOTRO
Tier 3 of the new raid has arrived in the latest patch. Producer’s letter is expected to be published this week. The spring festival returns on March 17th and runs through April 6th. The spring festival will bring a new pet and some housing decorations. Come join us for some fun in the maze in Bree-land. There is some fun things in the works for the kinship, so stay tuned for some upcoming fun.
LOST ARK
Lost Ark enters into its second month of release. AIE continues to have strong participation within the community. Over 50 members logging in nearly each day, playing characters across four guilds on the NA East Regulus server.
Some members have already achieved Tier 3 content and gear. Between new players and veteran player’s alts, there are daily groups running through daily and weekly group content such as chaos and abyssal dungeons as well as the guardian raids.
Beginning next weekend, on Saturdays from 8PM – midnight Eastern, we’ll be hosting weekly “Fun Nights” with a focus on the Adventure Tome zone completions. You don’t need to show up at 8 or go until midnight, this is just the general window of time most may be on. Explore the world and collect rewards.
If you have any questions, or wish to join AIE in Lost Ark, visit the AIE discord’s Lost Ark category or hop into the voice channels. The usual crew is happy to help and answer any questions you may have.
And with that, let’s get back to Marcus and find out what’s going on in Destiny 2.
GAME NEWS
The witch queen came out on 2/22/22
I was talking with Durus and after talking with him he passed the clan founder title to me… I swear he had his finger on the transfer button! But some awesome things have been happening in game!
THE WITCH QUEEN CAMPAIGN AND CONTENT
The Witch Queen is looking to be one of the biggest expansions we’ve ever seen for Destiny 2, and it’s filled with the kind of content you’d expect from a new Destiny update. There’s a new campaign (now with a Legendary variant), new activities, Savathun’s Throne World destination, a new raid, and more coming over the next few weeks.
THE GLAIVE
The Glaive is a completely new weapon type in Destiny 2: The Witch Queen. A cross between a spear, a gun, and a shield, The Glaive is the game’s first first-person melee weapon. It uses Special ammo, and players can fire explosive bolts from its tip. By dealing damage, Guardians activate a special shield that protects the user from damage. There’s at least one Legendary Glaive in the campaign, and a unique Exotic Glaive for each class.
WEAPON CRAFTING
Weapon Crafting is an oft requested feature in the Destiny community, and it’s finally here with The Witch Queen. Players will be able to craft a series of weapons (although some will remain random roll only), selecting specific perks and personalizing their guns for years to come. Bungie will continue to add to the system each season, adding more and more weapons to craft and level up.
VOID 3.0
Void 3.0 is the first Light subclass conversion to the Darkness (Stasis) system. All of the previous Void Supers will still be available, but there is also a host of new Aspects and Fragments for players to check out. Bungie will move the Arc and Solar subclasses to the same system later this year.
GAMBIT CHANGES
Gambit has felt like the forgotten child of the three playlists in Destiny 2, but it’s getting some key upgrades in the new expansion. Invaders should be less frequent and less impactful, and the Primeval phase is going to last much longer, and be nearly impossible to melt.
EXOTICS AND EXOTIC TUNING
Destiny 2’s latest expansion adds 14 new Exotics: six armor pieces, five weapons, and three class-specific Glaives. Bungie’s already revealed most of these Exotics (which you can check out here), but there are a few that we won’t discover for a few days or, potentially, weeks.
BALANCE CHANGES
Every new expansion or season comes with a balance patch. This time around, the changes are mostly focused around some of the abilities in the game, namely the ones in Void 3.0. There’s also a host of weapon archetype changes, but not as many as we saw in the Bungie 30th Anniversary patch a few months ago.
This week at Bungie, it’s all about the Vow of the Disciple World First race.
What a wild week it’s been. It feels like just yesterday we were announcing The Witch Queen, and now we find ourselves on the doorstep of a World First raid race. This is the weekend that many of you have been waiting for, strategically planning your Power gains and grabbing armfuls of snacks from grocery store shelves. In under two days, the race begins. Let’s get you up to speed.
If you’re new to Destiny or have yet to engage in a raid, this is the pinnacle of our endgame content. Players around the world are challenged to compete, decoding devious puzzles while engaging in heavy combat through multiple activity encounters. We’re not just talking a few enemies here and there, but hordes of combatants clawing away at lives and time while players race to the finish line. We expect no different from Vow of the Disciple with multiple teams at the final boss trading attempts at reaching victory.
Now, let’s talk rules. The World First race for Vow of the Disciple will take place in Contest Mode. This is a unique variant of the raid, only offered for the first 24 hours, capping every Guardian at a specific Power level to ensure an even playing field. We announced last week that 1530 Power is your target, as this will be the highest Power your Guardian will perform at against the enemies you face. Here’s a quick bulleted list for all who are in the hunt for the World First win:
Vow of Disciple Race timeline
Start: Saturday, March 5, 10 AM Pacific
End: Sunday, March 6, 10 AM Pacific
Contest Mode:
Contest Mode will cap all players at 20 Power below each encounter of the raid for the full 24 hours of the race.
