Welcome and congratudolences to @Maellung Arrowshield as they join the AIE Officer Corp!
Summer of Love week for AIE will be starting around 7/28 and running to 8/4 with 8/2 reserved as the annual Remembrance Day. Guild fun events in almost all our games and divisions are being planned for that week and a full schedule and details will be published on the guild blog soon!

Patch 8.2 dropped opening up Mechagon and Najazatar for questing and story!

Increase your power with Benthic gear, new upgradable armor that can now be collected in Nazjatar.
Defeating powerful enemies, completing quests, and plundering the treasures of Azshara’s minions may yield Prismatic Manapearls. Spend this new currency on many different items within Nazjatar including Benthic tokens and upgrades for Benthic gear, pets, and a mount.
After establishing a hub in Nazjatar and empowering their Heart of Azeroth, players will make their way to Mechagon by starting the quest “The Legend of Mechagon,” which can be accepted by Alliance players in Boralus and Horde players in Dazar’alor near each city’s respective Flight Masters.
Junkyard Tinkering
As they traverse the zone, players will have access to Pascal-K1N6, a giant iron robot who will help players craft equipment, mounts, toys, consumables, and more in exchange for Spare Parts and Energy Cells found across Mechagon. Recipes to craft more items can be found around the island.
Pocket-Sized Computation Device
The Pocket-Sized Computation Device is a trinket that players can customize via three Punchcard Sockets, into which players can insert one Red, Yellow, and Blue Punch Card.
Level 120 players will unite with Prince Erazmin and the Rustbolt Resistance to help overthrow his deranged father and destroy his Mechoriginator doomsday device in this new 8-boss “mega-dungeon.”

As you take the fight to the seas, your loyal followers will be with you every step of the way. You can now enlist Boat Captains and other skilled seafarers to fight your battles.
The once-forbidden skies of Kul Tiras and Zandalar will soon be open to heroes eager to take flight. The achievement Battle for Azeroth Pathfinder, Part Two will allow daring adventurers to take to the skies in Battle for Azeroth’s zones, including in the new ones, Mechagon and Nazjatar. Unlock flying will also be rewarded with a mechanical parrot mount: Wonderwing 2.0.

FFXIV
Pre-launch access is live!- For those that have pre-ordered Shadowbringers, you have access to the expansion as of early Friday morning. The queue was pretty high as plenty of people were still awake at 5am E.T. and eager to dive in, including a large contingent of the AIE FC members. The Discord voice channel for FF14 has been pretty active at all hours of the day since then, and there are plenty of people happy to help with dungeons, FATEs, and anything else you might need a guildie for. There were no ‘Raubahn Extreme mode’ moments that we are aware of, so the dev team’s work has paid off.
Broad story notes without spoilers – Shadowbringers is…gasp…darker in tone. Remember all that talk of morally grey story we heard a while back? I think we found it in FF14. Unlike the usual MSQ on rails experience, you are given some options of what order to run tasks in as you explore the new maps. There is a ton of great lore about the universe the game is in, with some holes being filled, and even bigger holes being opened up as you play the story. Rumor has it the first dungeon has some big reveals.
New classes: The second hand reports I’ve gotten are that Dancer is a ton of fun to play, and you might forget this is a ranged class, and a support class at that. It definitely aligns itself with the Bard and the Machinist as far as they work in a party.
I’m also hearing that the Gunbreaker is a very fun tank class to play, with even anti-flavor of the month players being drawn into class as well. Of course, there is now a flood of Gunbreakers and Dancers, so healers; this is your time to instant queue. On the plus side, both classes start at level 60, and require that you have a level 60 class, and of course the new expansion.
A lot of our familiar buttons are now gone, with very few new ones added, but over all things seems a bit clearer as far as what your class is supposed to be doing. Healers are meant to just heal now, so no more expectations for them to also DPS. Tanks don’t have a mitigation aura/stance, their extra tankiness is built in. Instead, their auras seem more for keeping threat/enmity.
Machinist definitely got the rework was promised, but not enough experience with it yet to tell how well it did.
New races: There is a Flood of…bunnies it seems. It is possible that the majority race is no longer the miqote, as the Viera is very obviously everywhere. The hrothgar is available as well, though not as popular yet. Rumor is that both races have little reason to use the Aesthetician(hair dresser) as their hair is tied to their face, meaning it will require another fantasia to change that out.
Catchup: If you are new to the game, it is highly recommended you play through the entire story at least once, otherwise, there are now class level to 70 skips and ‘straight to Shadowbringers’ story skips available for purchase with your real life money in the mog station. The new classes are not represented in the level skips, as they start at level 60. Those playing the new expansion will still be interacting with those players that are in the older content, so there is no worry that you are being left behind.
SWTOR
AIE in SWTOR has initiated the “Summer of 300”! With a handful of CXP300 achievements being removed in the fall for the expansion we wanted to get some of them done before they become “feats of strength”. A group of us are working on command ranks on alts to see how far we can get over the summer.
• Also in the theme of 300… SWTOR Escape Pod Cast episode 300 will be Tuesday, July 9th. We’ll likely take over some or all of MFN for a pre-show party and talking about the last 5 years of SWTOR.
• For Tuesday Night MFN and weekly activities, the guild is killing their large invasion targets this summer. The Devs increased the rate of Conquest point gain in a couple ways and we are taking full advantage!
• July MEGA will be an epic hunt for the Ancient Threat on Yavin. This will be on 7/27 and will mark the kickoff of AIE’s Summer of Love week.
• Big hello and welcome to the handful of new to AIE members that have joined in the past two weeks!
ESO
The Thieves guild and Dark Brotherhood event starts July 2nd and runs until July 15th. You will get double rewards for world boss and delve boss kills as well as the dailies. There will also be increased rewards for heists and Sacraments. This event will also drop event tickets for the new Shadowy Onyx Indrik mount. You can earn a max of 2 tickets per day per account.
And as always, MFN is Friday nights at 9pm EST.
EVE
Oh, there’s a war happening in EVE too. Apparently they added in PvE to Eve and it completely threw everyone off kilter. Now the slumlords who are used to controlling large swaths of space with Player Owned Structures (POS) are having to actively defend them since they people they’re renting to aren’t or really aren’t helping and now they’re all in an uproar because they actually have to engage with the game content and not the people content.

The revived Dragon Bash festival started last week and will run for 2 more weeks. It has been moved to Hoelbrack, and has new races and good loot. There is a new guild hall decoration, a holoprojector that makes a giant Holo krakatoric fly the skies.
