Blizzard has announced the new World of Warcraft expansion, Battle for Azeroth, and the announcement cinematics are epic. Not only that, we have an official launch date! On August 14th, the Horde and Alliance rush into combat with each other. There are new zones, new playable races, and new materials to fight over. Players can have a mini start now with the new Allied Races unlocked. High Mountain Tauren and The Nightfallen have joined The Horde, while the Void Elves and Light Forged Draenei have pledged their help to The Alliance. The new Allied races are gated, so work on your rep and finish up those zone quests!
You can pre-purchase the expansion and watch the trailer on Blizzard’s website. Right now, if you purchase the new expansion, you receive Legion for free AND a 110 character boost. Also new this expansion for those that love the Collector’s Edition, you no longer have to give away your extra game key for buying both the Digital Edition and Collector’s Edition. Directly from Blizzard’s site:
“If you’ve purchased a digital copy of Battle for Azeroth, but want to upgrade to the Collector’s Edition, we will automatically credit you the cost of the digital copy in Blizzard Balance – as long as you enter the Collector’s Edition key before 11:59pm PST on December 31, 2018. When you enter the key from your Collector’s Edition, we will see the original transaction on your account and the credit will kick in. Remember, you will need to enter the Collector’s Edition key before the end of the year, as automatic Blizzard Balance credits will be turned off at 11:59pm PST on December 31, 2018.
Please note, if you bought a standard edition then upgraded to a digital deluxe, you will be credited for the original copy only.”
Blizzard has also rolled out several Alpha testing invites and Alea Iacta Est has joined in the fun. We have a guild on the Sylvanas Server on the Alliance side. Before you say “Boo, Alliance!”, we didn’t want to spoil any of the Horde fun when the expansion actually arrives. The guild is called Alea Iacta Est Audacia, and we have a few officers in the Alpha that can give you an invite. Just hop in Discord in the LFO channel and ask for a WoW officer. Only a few of us have Alpha, so please be patience as we try to get everyone in. See you there!
