MFN – for the 12th of December Explosive Conflict on the Galactic Republic side.
For the 19th of December Terror from Beyond on the Sith Empire Side.
December 26th and January 2nd we’ll be on break, we will be back on the 9th of January for a visit at Karraga’s Palace on the Sith Empire side.
Patch 5.6.1 hits on Tuesday and one of the highlights is some tuning to the new Copero flashpoint.
Here are the current patch notes for these changes in 5.6.1 (still subject to change, check on Monday for the final).
Bosses have had their health significantly reduced in both Story and Solo Mode.
The damage done by bosses has been reduced in both Story and Solo Mode.
Bosses have had their health slightly reduced in both Veteran and Master Mode.
The number of enemies has been reduced throughout the Flashpoint.
The Guardian Droid will no longer instant cast their Mortar Volley ability.
The Copero Security Droid will no longer instant cast their Seeker Missile ability.
Also, of note for Tetsemi, who loves his dailies
5.6.1 – The lack of that Daily Mission means you actually get less CXP than you did previously from the Daily areas, which is not something we want. In fact, we want you to get a lot more CXP from solo Missions in the game. In Game Update 5.6.1 all of the Planetary Heroic Missions and Daily Area Missions are going to have their CXP rewards tripled to 225 CXP per Mission (up from 75).
Our goal with this change is that both Planetary Heroics and Daily Area Missions are great sources of CXP for solo players. These changes in 5.6.1 along with all of the other increased rewards for both group and solo in Activity Finder means you can gain Command Ranks quicker than ever in whatever activities you choose to play.

Also, starting Tuesday until the end of the year, they are having a Double XP, CXP, and Valor event. This was supposed to happen with the launch of 5.6, but some bits got misplaced and are now in order.

Captain Cybyl’s Star Trek Online News Summary for week ending 12/10/2017:
1. It’s that time of year again, captains: Q’s Winter Wonderland Event from December 7th to January 18th! Star Trek’s favorite Pain-in-the-Asteroid will be offering a gorgeous, Breen heavy raider starship and tons of other outstanding equipment for event prize vouchers. Traditional events plus new events will reward prize vouchers to all participants. Q’s snarky responses are included at no extra charge. See the details on the STO website.
2. The new Dranuur Colony fleet starbase’s next upgrade project has been unlocked: ‘Colony Utility: Lamps’. The colony gets really, really dark at night. See the STO website for details.
3. From December 7th to January 4th, the C-Store will make available legacy duty officer packs as well as the new Tzenkethi Dreadnaught Carrier starship. Check out the website for ship stats.
4. This weekend only, all duty officer packs as well as the aforementioned legacy duty officer packs are on sale in the C-Store for 20% off.

Nothing much for AIEU, except that we started destroying moons (tractorbeam a huge chunk to orbit, blow it up and mine the blocks)… typical EvE explosive solution to everything (and especially diplomacy)
Some uncertainty on the future, with massive layoffs at CCP, including all the community managers.
Layoffs linked to VR, officially, but more reaching than the announcement. Not the first set of layoffs in the 15y of the game, but still worrisome, now that CCP is supported by an investment fund.
Alpha pilots (those you can play for free) have more ships and skills accessible, but those new skills need paid training or injectors to learn.
