Welcome to episode #273 of the the podcast celebrating the Alea Iacta Est gaming community, the die has been podcast. Greeting Gamers, this is Mewkow. To my left is Tetsemi: (catch phrase here) and to my right is Mkallah (There are scones, lemon cake, and angel food cake in the guild kitchen). This week we are joined by special guests Abovan who is here to talk to give us an update on AIE in FFXIV. Welcome!

Imperium Ludi
Galadeon posted in the forums to let everyone know about a new MMO in development called Ashes of Creation. It’s a player driven content MMO with the content unlocked by player activities around hidden nodes in the game. A 6+ minute video of the basic concepts is also in the forum post. Follow up from our last podcast, Noob Raid did invade Trials of Valor raid and were able to knock down the first two bosses in the Trial, way to go raiders!
Patch 7.2 has been out for a bit now and players have unlocked two of the three towers and experienced what was offered by each. Most feedback seen, seem to indicate the solo scenario for your class weapons was very difficult and higher level gear is going to be needed for most folks to complete the scenario, also the extra loot chest (the random buff) did provide extra loot but I think folks were looking for a bit more from it.
The Nether Disruptor was completed and brought with it a world boss that has a chance to drop loot (I received a ilevel 900 Blood Relic for my tanking weapon) as well as an item that gives you Artifact Power (with level 28 AK it gives 1.2 million AP). You also get the buff that if you spend a bonus roll token and don’t get bonus loot, there is a chance the token will be refunded to you. More Unstable Nether Portals are created while this tower is up and there is a chance to get Artifactor Commendations which are used in crafting legendaries by the three armor class professions (Tailoring, Leatherworking, and Blacksmithing).
Legion Invasions are also active, but the requirement to complete all four has been removed from Pathfinder Part 2 (to unlock flying in Legion), so the requirements now are just Pathfinder Part 1, Exploring all of Broken Shore, and getting getting to Revered reputation with Armies of Legionfall.
Getting reputation with Legionfall is achieved through Work Orders in your class hall, completing the World Quests that are up on the Broken Shore and turning in Building Supplies for Towers. Legion Invasions does not give Legionfall reputation, but they do help with the reputation for the zone they are in.

The War for Iokath: The Faction Battle Reignites
A good write-up about the upcoming patch, storylines, and information about the conflict on Iokath is on the SWTOR main site. As Outlander you will have to decide if you want to side with the Republic and its new commander Jace Malcom or the Empire and its new leader Empress Acina.
Of definite note is the Returning companions – Quinn and Elara. They will side with you depending on if you side with Empire/Republic. Sith Warriors may have another way to get Quinn back. There are still choices you can make that determines if you get them or not. These companions are tied to the story, and not dailies/reputation.
Also a reminder, you just need to be level 70 to access Patch 5.2 content. Which means you must have been a subscriber in the past but don’t need to be a current subscriber.

Good news everyone! (Oh wait wrong game), the Guild Hall is at the actual unlock event stage. It’s a drawn out series of fights to clear out the Guild Hall and take it over for the guild. We need level 80’s with HoT expansion and access to gliding is very, very helpful. For updates, please check with the forums thread

This will not erase your progression in The Secret World though! Secret World Legends will exist on a different server than The Secret World, meaning you will still be able to play your old character on The Secret World server.
We’ve made some major improvements to the game and server, so Secret World Legends will have its own client. You can have both Secret World Legends and The Secret World installed on the same computer and play either game at any time.
If you’re intrigued by Secret World Legends but don’t want to leave behind the things you’ve worked hard to attain in The Secret World, worry not: a free transfer process will allow you to move vanity items like Mounts, Pets, Vehicles, and other customization’s that have been purchased through the item store from The Secret World to your characters in Secret World Legends
The Secret World Legends closed beta is announced and there is a signup on the main page of Secret World Legends.

Captain Cybyl’s Star Trek Online News Summary for week ending 4/9/2017:
1. A new featured episode, ’Survivor’, was released April, 3rd. Loyalist, traitor, daughter, hero, villain, warlord, empress. Yes, Sela of Romulus fame, returns for evil? For good? Only players of this episode shall know the secret of her return. New rewards for completion of this episode shall be added every week for the next 3 weeks.
2. A new backstory has been posted to the STO website blog entitled ‘Ripples’. This introduces the new featured mission, ’Survivor’. The crew of the time ship, USS Pastak picks up time ripples that will lead us to the Survivor. The surprising events that follow are totally unexpected. As before, no spoilers.
3. On April 5th, 2063, the legendary scientist, Dr. Zephram Cochrane flew his experimental warp ship to become the first man to achieve faster-than-light travel. This accomplishment was detected by a passing Vulcan explorer vessel, initiating mankind’s First Contact with advanced extra-terrestrials. Free computer desktop wallpapers of this historic event are now available on the STO website.
4. This day was also celebrated April 5th with a special event where players helped Dr. Cochrane collect parts to build the first warp drive spacecraft. In addition a First Contact sci-fi short story story writing contest was introduced and which ends April 14th. Both event’s prizes are listed on the STO website.
5. This weekend is the annual Shuttle Weekend event. Players fly their favourite shuttle craft to assist a Romulan colony fend off giant land walking tanks and airborne attacks. Rewards are posted on the STO website.
6. Don’t forget: The AIE Fleet’s Star Bases are always seeking contributions of materiel and personnel. And once again, please check out news, backstories, patch notes, forums, commentary, and other goodies at the Star Trek Online website <https://startrekonline.com >.
