Welcome to episode # of the the podcast celebrating the Alea Iacta Est gaming community, the Die has been Podcast. This is Tetsemi and to my left is Mewkow – (Welcome, Gamers). Mkallah is not joining us tonight, she said something about having to tank some inventory backup at work, but we all know she really snuck off to watch the big sportsball game We are talking about the general goings on in AIE and what we have been up to in the past few weeks.
Ok, we’ll be talking amongst ourselves shortly, but first, let’s cover this week’s news…
Interested in raiding in WOW, but don’t know how to find a raid group? Check out the Alea Iacta Est LFG discord channel or the recruitment sections of the forums- there are a few groups currently needing new members:
Pepperjack Fan Club is looking for more raiders- they run Saturdays & Sundays,12-3 PM server time.- contact Sinru or Keligh in game or in their recruitment thread listed in the show notes.
Horseshoes and Hand Grenades is looking for backup tanks and DPS- they raid Monday and Thursday nights 11:55pm-2:00am server – contact Illmar or Bullwork in game or on their recruitment thread listed in the show notes.
If you are looking at running an event in WoW, please let Nevermore know in game, via Discord, or the @AIE_WoW twitter account and she’ll make sure folks are aware.
Looking to find out what’s happening in game? The SWTOR team publishes a monthly in game event listing each month, and this month’s is really really good.
In preparation for the upcoming patch 5.2, the SWTOR team has decided to help you gear up, level up, and generally speed up your progress in game. They are providing a 250% XP bonus (while leveling up) and a 250% command XP bonus once you reach max level. This will be starting Feb 7th and lasting through April 10th. So that will give returning folks, and players leveling up alts (to max level) plenty of time to take advantage of it. And for those with max level toons, this will speed up gaining CXP, which I know Max and Sema will be very happy with as it’s a constant topic they touch on in their podcast. Speaking of which
SWTOR Escape Pod Cast 180: New Operation!
This week @AIESema, @MaxTheGrey and Astromech EPC-180 talk about the recent dev stream highlighting the new operation under development as well as a few other good things coming to the game in the next couple months.
The folks over at Final Fantasy 14 want to remind you that Final Fantasy Friday Fun Night is going strong. Join us every Friday as we find new ways to run amok in the beautiful land of Eorzea.
Also, if you haven’t already, be sure to get your pre-order in for the newest expansion, Stormblood, coming June 20th of this year.
A reminder for Guild Wars 2: The Lunar New Year festival ends on the 7th and the new episode of the living story starts up. Be sure to login on your toons before then so as to get the current episode of the living story for free. Once Episode 4 comes out, you will not be able to claim your access for free.
A-Net is using a time gated claim system for the Living World Episodes. As long as you log in, even with a free account, you will claim your access to the current Episode during its release window. In order to play the Living world, you need a Heart of Thorns paid account, but you can still claim the access on a free account, to play through at a later time. Also, be sure to follow up with logging on after Feb 7th as well to claim Episode 4.
Finally, if you do not log in, but are interested in the game at a later time, A-Net has in the past allowed the purchase of Season 2, so I am guessing a similar system is/will be in place for late comers to go through the Living World stories (minus season 1, which as of now is not accessible to anyone and was only playable during its live time).
Captain Cybyl’s Star Trek Online News Summary for week ending 2/6/2017:
