Welcome to episode #258 of the the podcast celebrating the Alea Iacta Est gaming community, the die has been podcast. This is Tetsemi To my left is Mkallah: – (there are churro cupcakes in the guild kitchen). This week we are joined by special guests Dux who is here to talk to us about AIE in LOTRO Welcome!

Ok, we’ll be digging into LOTRO shortly, but first, let’s cover this week’s news…

AIE News

The AIE Summer of Love is here! Well, as of tomorrow. We celebrate the love for our guild, and our community, this upcoming week.

The scheduled events are as follows-

Monday, 7:30 server time- Running of the Beef 13- Mechanicals Vs Manicals
We are going to be on the Gnomergan server- the idea is to create a gnome hunter and go on a fun run! More details will be available the night of the event, but this looks like it is going to be a blast. You can make your toon now, but please make sure you aren’t leveling or questing at all before hand. There will be a prize given for the best name, but please remember, this is AIE, so keep it family friendly.

Tuesday is the community wide Remembrance day- at 9pm server time. And a big shout out to Beefmaster and the Ooka Hozen style for taking over firework duty for Take- ummm, Larry this year.

Wednesday is Gusty’s All Druid ICC/Ulduar run – invites start at 7:30 server time.

Friday- COOP with Grimcow, keep your eyes and ears out for details!

Saturday- Disney trivia in “neverland” with Nevermore and Allanya- 3-5 server time- come dressed in a disney inspired transmog outfit for a chance to win more prizes.
And stick around, 8 PM server time there is a SOL old school raid night with BRA and Dojo of Awesome!

Patch 7.0.3 has hit and what’s new that can keep you busy for a couple weeks? You can go recipe hunting!

Tome of the Clear Mind and Codex of the Clear Mind: These items, crafted by Scribes, allow you to freely talent when you are not in a rested area. The recipe for Tome of the Clear Mind comes from the Herb Trader in your Garrison, as well as the Garrison Quartermaster Sergeant Crowler and Sergeant Grimjaw. Codex of the Clear Mind is a world drop.

If you like the look of weapon enchants, you can now collect them for Transmog and they are known as Weapon Illusions –

You can gather some individually and others, including a quest line for one, come with a group of illusions.

If you like clothes, and who doesn’t, you can run Kharazan and Molten Core for drops of new recipes that will teach tailors how to make a Clothes Chest useable by your party from the Kharazan Opera House and Molten Core.

Mark August 9th on your calendars, because that’s when you can make a Demon Hunter and the Burning Legion invasion begins. And as a reminder, we’re hoping to have Umami updated to handle all your Demon Hunter applications and for those coming back from hiatus a friendly reminder it’s one application per character. If your characters are in Umami already, just type /join aielfo and as for an invite from one of the officers.

Do you like Lore? Do you like animated movies and animated web comics? Well have we got a ton of content for you.

Harbinger’s Videos – These are videos similar to the Warlords videos that were released before the Warlords expansion launched. They’ll be highlighting important lore/story characters and what they’ve been up to since Archimonde’s defeat at Hellfire Citadel as well as origin/back stories of others.

What has Khadgar been up to since we defeated Archimonde in Hellfire Citadel?

Where did the Warlords version of Gul’dan come from?

Webcomics – The links below take you to the Madefire version of the comic which is a ‘live’ version of the comic and, for me, a very enjoyable way of reading the comics. There are four so far: Magni, dealing with the Dwarven King awakening from his crystalization during Cataclysm; Nightborne, dealing with the new Elf Civilization and the story so far that we’ll be exploring once we hit 110 in Legion; Highmountain: for all you that love the Tauren race and lore; and Anduin: which contains spoilers about the Broken Shore invasion and the aftermath of that invasion.

#1 Magni: Fault Lines released

#2 Nightborne: Twilight of Suramar

#3 Highmountain: A Mountain Divided

#4 Anduin: Son of the Wolf (warning Broken Shore/Legion spoilers)

There is also a new audio drama launching tomorrow called The Tomb of Sargeras and will be four episodes in length. It will deal with Gul’dan and The Tomb of Sargeras (which contains Sargeras colossal, broken form)

Don’t forget, there is a meetup for planned for the big EVE Vegas event at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino – the event is Friday, October 28th to Sunday, October 30th. Expect Shinanigans, space double crossing, and stuff blowing up, but not in real life.
Tickets can be purchased for the event itself at

Want to try Final Fantasy XIV, but want to pay? There is a free login campaign going on through August 30th. Log in now and you will get five days to play the game for free. And with Heavensward going on now, this is the perfect time to explore all that the game has to offer, including the Palace of the Dead, which helps you earn a new i235 weapon.

And don’t forget, Mew is still looking for everyone’s thoughts on how to use the FC action buffs.

The AIE guild in SWTOR will be having a few Summer of Love events as well!
They will be honoring Remembrance Day on August 2 and 8pm central time. Meet at the traditional location high in the Juran mountains north of the house Aide on Alderaan. Coordinates are 1490, -940.

Saturday, August 6th from 8-10 pm Central time, there will be a guild party for both factions. Festivities include Stronghold tours and awards, a costume contest, a worst costume dance party, and music played over!

And, this week on SWTOR Escape Pod Cast 153: Sema, Max, and Astromech EPC-153 review how Conquest works and talk about how one of our guild members put up over 5 million conquest points himself. They also touch on other game and community news for the week from SWTOR in general.
