AIE NEWS

AIE WOW: Welcoming The Sun Role Playing Event

It might be hard to remember that the AIE World of Warcraft guild is founded on a roleplaying server, but AIE member Ironclawed definitely remembers. She will be hosting a role playing event to celebrate the Spring Equinox. (Yes, the Spring Equinox was last month, but who’s counting?) The event will be held tomorrow, Friday April 18th, at 8pm server time, starting in Bloodhoof Village and will include a pilgrimage to Red Rocks for the celebration with a return to Bloodhoof for feasting and story telling.

AIE WOW: Spring Craft Faire Pet Battle Tournament and Transmog Contest

As if the AIE WoW Spring Craft Fair wasn’t a big enough event in itself, with all the skill leveling, raffle giveaways, and everything  else Syrene is going to fill us in on in a few minutes, Nevermore has just announced a Spring Craft Faire Pet Battle Tournament and a “My Battle Pet and Me” transmog contest. The event will be held on Sunday, April 27th, from 7pm to 9pm server time in the Crusader’s Coliseum at the Argent Tournament Grounds in Icecrown. The winner of the tournament will get to choose either a rascal-bot or darkmoon eye as their prize. You have to have at least three level 25 battle pets to play in the tournament, and you need to register in advance so they can get the brackets all set up. But if you don’t have three level 25 pets, or just want to show off your fashionista skills, there will be a transmog contest immediately following the tournament. To join, just choose your favorite companion pet and create the perfect transmog outfit to match. For more information and to register for the tournament, check out her thread in the AIE Azeroth section of the forums.

AIE General: Food, yum

This is also in the AIE Azeroth section of the forums, but it really applies to everyone, because who doesn’t like food, right? AIE member Moozedude has started a thread asking for everyone’s favorite eats, so if you have a recipe that you’d love to share, or are just looking for ideas for dinner, check it out. This is not the first time the AIE forums have been flooded with food, and it’s probably a good time to remind people that we actually have our own AIE Cookbook, full of great recipes submitted by the members of AIE, with custom artwork by the Gerpmeister himself. It’s in the Frogpants store for only $19.95, and all profits go to fund the various servers and services used the guild.

AIE LOTRO: April Events

For all you Hobbitses lovers out there, Dux has posted a few events coming up for AIE in LOTRO this month. Update 13 was launched earlier this week, and there will be 7th anniversary games coming out later this month, but to add to that, the AIE clan will be holding a PvMP tour of the Ettenmoors on the 19th, and a Kinship party with live music on the 26th. Dux didn’t post too many details, so if these events sound like fun, go track him down in game and find out more.

AIE STO: Double XP Weekend & Mining info

For the AIE Star Trek Online crew, Capt Hunter wants you to know that from now until Monday the 21st, STO will be holding a double XP weekend event. All missions and events will earn you double the experience, so if you’re still leveling up your captain, be sure to check it out. And if you’re looking for something to do, Capt Hunter also recommends digging into their private dilithium mine. You can grab a shuttle from their starbase to the mine, knock out your mining dailies, get your mining duty officers on task, and do it all for double the XP.

AIE FF: PS3 to PS4 Upgrade

And last, AIE Final Fantasy member Jehdai posted that Square Enix is giving away free upgrades for Final Fantasy ARR from the PS3 version to the PS4 version from now until the end of the year. So if you’ve moved on up to the new Playstation platform, you can take your Final Fantasy with you. This is a permanent transfer, you won’t be able to play it on the PS3 anymore after you upgrade, but who wants to play on a last-gen console anyway, right?

Meetups

Here are the meetups on the calendar at the AIE Meetup.com site….

GAME NEWS

Craft Faire Events

The Craft Faire is a guild wide event held twice a year in Silvermoon City in loving memory of Milliway.  This event brings the whole guild together for the singular purpose of helping out their fellow guild members.  We spend months gathering materials throughout Azeroth and stockpiling them until the weekend of the Craft Faire.  And what do we do with them?  We give them away to guildies to level up their professional skills.  So, if you’re a new 90 and haven’t bothered with professions yet, and you have an AIE guild tag, then join us at the Faire and level up Engineering or Tailoring or any other profession.  Maybe you’re only level 40 and just got fast ground riding and want to get your Mining maxed.  We can help with that too.

This year the Faire will be held on April 26th from 4pm to 7pm server time (EST) and on April 27th from 2pm to 5pm server time (EST).  One thing we brought back this time was to have everyone pre-register for the Faire.  With all the new boosted 90 toons, the captains didn’t want to get blind-sided.  The registration form is available on the AIE forums.  Another new thing we did this time was to create an open Google doc with a list of all the materials we still need for the Faire.  So instead of going to 10 different spreadsheets and trying to read them, we have it all in one place as a simple document.

One way to help us gather the materials we need is to join the Victory Garden group.  They are planting the crop of the day and other Panda material seeds and sending in their harvests.

One of the biggest things we still need are volunteers to help work the Faire.  We are still looking for people to help out the Enchanting and First Aid Captains.  And we can always use mages for teleporting people to Silvermoon or people with multi-passenger mounts to be taxi drivers.

The Craft Faire is one of the largest events we have in World of Warcraft, and it wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of our guild members.  Thank you to everyone, past and present, that has ever donated their time or farmed materials to make this all happen.

Raffle:

Don’t forget, we also have the Craft Faire raffle going on.  At last count, we were up to 5 Sky Golems, a bunch of crafted 553 gear, a ton of rare pets, and some Royal Satchel bags.  Tickets are 100 gold each.  Rules for entry and other fun info is on the AIE wiki (wiki.aie-guild.org).  Some of you may wonder what we do with the gold.  Well, a very small percentage is used to buy storage banks and last minute materials on the auction house.  The rest goes into prizes for the raffle.  Like vendor mats to make Sandstone Drakes, or buying 3-person mammoth’s in Dalaran, or if there’s enough, the awesome Yaks.  The gold doesn’t go into the co-guilds’ banks nor do we keep it.  That means, the more tickets that are bought, the more prizes we can buy to give away.

We also have some other events going on that same weekend.

Pet Battling Event:  Noted above in News

COOP:  Maybe….Possibly….???   We don’t know but we think so!! Watch the forums for info!

After Party:  Sunday after Faire at Gallywix’s.  This is when we will be announcing winners of the Raffle.

FULL Mail with Full Stacks to Seriewa (so all 12 slots) till Wednesday Night!
