AIE NEWS

For any AIE/Tadpool/frogpants people going to DragonCon this year, Revenar has set up a GroupMe group for everyone. GroupMe is a service that lets you send or receive text messages from everyone in the group, without everyone having to give out their phone numbers to everyone else. You can also message everyone from the GroupMe website. The GroupMe information is already posted to both the Facebook group as well as the Extra Life Forums in the “General Yappin’ Section, but he also wanted to share the link here!

There was a time when EVERYONE had a WoW signature on the forums. (The forums? Did someone say forums? Go to the forums!)  But as everyone knows now, we’ve branched into so many games, a single game signature just won’t cut it! There is a very cool thread on the forums where a few awesome folks are trying to get one generated for ALL the games that AIE uses!

We tend to mention the Imperium Ludi section of the forums now and again, but it looks like Final Fantasy is really gathering some steam! It’s very clearly in the expedition phase of GERP right now, but there is a TON of activity on the forums. People talking about dates for when things will drop, what sort of things they’re planning on doing on launch, etc. Get your votes in and voice heard as the GERP progresses!

Don’t forget, we have Greenwall in Real Life! You can chat with other AIE members, even when you’re not in a game, by using our Jabber server. Jabber is a text chat system that works with a large number of chat clients, so you can find any client you like, point it to our Jabber server, and chat the day away. The information you need to point to our Jabber server is in the forums, or you can even use the Jabber web client found on the front page of the guild website at aie-guild.org

Speaking of Greenwall, you coders in the community may be interested to know that the WoW Greenwall add-on code has been posted to Github, along with other AIE-developed software. If you have some free time and wish to lend your coding skills to the guild, check out our Github, where you will find the link to Stigg’s email address to get invited to the party.

Most AIE members are really into fantasy games, and Fantasy Football is no exception. It looks like the Frogpants Fantasy Football League has filled up, but Younhoi from AIE World of Warcraft is looking to see if there’s any interest in starting an AIE Fantasy Football League. If you’re up for it, respond to his post in the forums. There’s no money involved, so you can play without losing anything but your pride – unless you can pick a good team, of course.

We want to give a big shout-out to AIE World of Warcraft for their amazing COOP run last week during the AIE Summer of Love. They took over the Alliance Pandarian city, Shrine of the Seven Stars, which I think is a first for our server. Big thanks to Alachaas and the rest of the COOP leadership for holding that event. Alachaas has promised another COOP run coming up soon. If you want to let him know you’re interested, you can reach him on Twitter at @Alachaas

For you hairy-toed AIErs who didn’t get a chance to partake in the Lord of the Rings Online Summer Festival, Turbine has extended the event to run through this weekend, so it’s not too late for you to jump in and get all those goodies you want before the festival shuts down for the year.

Breaking news, Revenar has posted up a link for the Remembrance Day video they made:  http://www.twitch.tv/revenar/b/439964981   So check it out!   And With that…

GAME NEWS

Issue 7 is here, the Anniversary event has come and gone, Issue 8 is on the horizon, Issue 9 can’t come soon enough, and now speculation on where we go after 9 can begin!

Anniversary Event.  How it went, personal experiences, what went right, what went wrong.  What the community did right.

Issue 7.  Summerize each of the quests.  Go over the new dailies.  Explain what the new outfit reward is.  Who Horrifies The Horrors?  A Trail of Breadcrumbs.  When The Hatchet Falls.  You Only Die Twice.  The Sound of Children.  I Walk Into Empty.

Issue 8.  We know a little more, some of the implied changes to Scenarios and the increased maximum cap on Ability Points (AP).

Issue 9.  We learned a bit more about Tokyo, and that Issue 10 is going to be in a new location, hinted at the end of the Story mission for Issue 9.  Tokyo will have two zones, and at least one major dungeon hub.  People are speculating that this will be Orochi Tower, the headquarters to the massive corporation, where the Tokyo Filth Event happened.  Based on some information I recall from Issue #5, The Vanishing of Tyler Freeborn, it’s possible we’ll be headed to possibly Africa, or Scotland, however, there are other possible locations we’ll be heading to next.

What’s AIE doing currently in TSW.  (Nightmares, Lairs, and other activities).
