WoW
https://aie-guild.org/blog/2020/01/news-from-aie-in-wow-retail/

UMAMI applications are no longer a requirement for WoW Retail. We are opening up guild recruitment to the server with the in-game recruitment system. New and current members of AIE can continue to use Discord, aielfo in-game community, as well as the new Blizzard guild recruitment system to request guild invites. We want to thank Stigg for everything he has done with our UMAMI system and Greenwall, and we can’t wait to see what else he has in store for AIE.

Patch 8.3 Survival Guide
https://www.wowhead.com/news=305319/patch-8-3-visions-of-nzoth-survival-guide-giveaway

The third major Battle for Azeroth content patch, Visions of N’Zoth, will be releasing on January 14th (US) / 15th (EU).

This new content patch will include N’Zoth Assaults in two zones: Uldum and Vale of Eternal Blossoms. N’Zoth has taken over and Corrupted these areas. Taking part in these Assaults will earn you reputation with the Uldum Accord and Rajani and earn you a new currency: Coalescing Visions.

Wrathion returns in this Patch, starting off with a long Introduction Questline that will act as a tutorial for the major systems of this patch. This includes his own legendary cloak Ashjra’kamas, Shroud of Resolve and a plan to enter and take down the Horrific Visions of N’zoth. Titanforging is being removed for all Patch 8.3 content and replaced by Corrupted Gear which will provide you with powerful effects, but at a cost. Participating in Horrific Visions will allow you to upgrade Wrathion’s Legendary Cloak, helping you to combat some of the negative effects of the Corrupted gear. In addition, new Essences are being added for all roles, as well as new recipes for Professions.

Two new Allied Races are being added to the game: Vulpera for the Horde and Mechagnomes for the Alliance. Allied Race Death Knights are also available this Patch for players who have pre-purchased Shadowlands. Goblin and Worgen Heritage Armor is being added this Patch as well! If you’ve been wanting to transmog Legendary weapons, Patch 8.3 will finally allow you to do so! … except for the Warglaives of Azzinoth, those are still Demon Hunter appearance only. This Patch also helps If you’ve been looking for a unique reward from Island Expeditions, as there are new Salvage Crates which can be bought with Seafarer’s Dubloon. Lastly, the Auction House is getting a much needed rework.

More content is coming later in the Patch on January 21st when Season 4 of Battle of Azeroth begins. This marks the opening of the new Ny’alotha Raid, new PvP Season and new Mythic+ Seasonal Affix, Awakened, as well as Heroic Darkshore. Season 4 will also come with an overall Item Level increase to most systems, with the cap from most systems being 475 except for the final two bosses of Ny’alotha dropping 485 gear.

Mewkow- WoW Classic
https://www.wowhead.com/news=305109/classic-wow-content-drop-on-feb-12th-blackwing-lair-level-50-class-quests-eterna

Blackwing Lair

The Blackwing Lair attunement quest, “Blackhand’s Command”, will become available on all realms tomorrow, Friday, January 10.

Level 50 Class Quests

All players, starting at level 50, can now begin class-specific questlines offered by class trainers in capital cities. These quests conclude with a choice of one of three powerful rare items.

New Reputation Rewards

The Argent Dawn, Thorium Brotherhood, Timbermaw Hold, Silverwing Sentinels, and Warsong Outriders faction vendors now offer reputation reward items that were added in patches 1.6 and 1.7 of original WoW.

Eternal Quintessence

Players who complete “Hands of the Enemy” and reach Revered reputation with Hydraxian Waterlords may now obtain Eternal Quintessence from Duke Hydraxis.

Darkmoon Faire – Coming Earlier in February

The first Darkmoon Faire in WoW Classic will get underway in early February, with barkers and the Faire setup appearing on Friday, February 7, and the festivities opening on Monday, February 10. Look for the many Darkmoon Cards that make up the beasts, elementals, portals, and warlords sets to begin dropping from enemies and bosses on Wednesday, February 5.

SWTOR
The holidays in SWTOR were filled with MEGAs, MFNs, snowballs and wookiee hugging. Several guildies were so industrious, they achieved the Wookiee Hugging Champion achievement! Wookiees give the best hugs.

In 2020, we are looking forward to opening the rest of the rooms in both guild flagships, many Operations successes, MFNs galore, MEGAs extraordinaire, Conquest targets met, meetups, trivia, and, of course, lightning

ESO
On January 16th at 5pm EST there will be a Bethesda live stream to reveal the Chapter and year long story. They will have twitch drops live during the stream so you can unlock rewards.
MFN is still on Friday nights at 9pm est where we run dungeons, rampage though zones killing bosses, obtaining sky shards, and looting anything not nailed down, and occasionally jump off cliffs.

FFXIV
We had the first maps night in quite awhile and it was fairly epic. We did level 80 maps, AKA Zonureskin Maps, and reached the final chamber 4 times! That means a +100K payday each time. With total Gil and value of mats dropped in excess of 15M gil.

Map Nights will be a regular Saturday night event going forward, just ping Kelseer on the #ffxiv channel in AIE Discord if you want to join in. Map groups hold about 8 people per team. The Gliderskin maps are more tuned for solo players, if you didn’t want to get a full group.

Raiding will be picking up again soon. Speak with @Durus or @Abovan for details. We’ll likely begin with some of the early extreme fights (Titania and Innocence) to gauge where everyone is, and help gear folks up.

Patch 5.2 is coming in February and includes

-New MSQ (beginning of the end of SHB’s story)
-New Dungeon, “Anamnesis Anyder” (Trust Compatible)
-New beast tribe focusing on gathering, the Qitari
-New Chronicles of a New Era (5.0’s Trials quest chain)
-First Trial will be Ruby Weapon
-New Raid, “Eden’s Verse” (One boss will be related to Ramuh)
-Upgradable Equipment quest series (Relic quest)

EVE
Settled in new home system. Bringing up our lil cubby holes ADM’s so we can truly start doing big boy stuff. Hoots has plans to start making stuff for corpies and corpies are helping by donating needed materials for said process

LOTRO
We finished off 2019 with a lot of fun during SNL. We have stuff planned for 2020. Stay tuned for upcoming details.

And with that, let’s get back to US and find out what’s going on in since the break.

GAME NEWS
Mkallah
I’m a mom, it was christmas time, I was running around from December 12th until December 26th. I think my final count was twelve pounds of marshmallows, ten pounds of fudge, eight batches of various cookies and bars, three pies, one cake, and one batch of rice krispy treats. ANd, that was just the baking, There was also a lot of hiking, cooking, wrapping, and I even slept in a little. I did manage to read two full books- Catch and Kill by Ronan Farrow, quickly followed by The Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo- because one needs dark modern fantasy dealing with secret magical societies and Yale after 450 pages of the Weinstine investigation.

We had our annual Yule party and our Fert and Friends Christmas eve sushi lunch. We saw Star Wars opening night, and immediately afterwards I got a text from our friend MIlls that he wants to do a Star Wars game taking place 100 years after Rise of the Skywalker and then he gave us the Force and Destiny book for Christmas! I am looking at a Twi’lek Mystic Seer, not good with people, but super connected to the Living Force.

Only one of my D&D groups was semi active this season, but we have managed to get roped into helping a clan of wood elves deal with a mythical monster that has cursed them. And, you know that feeling when you wander into the wrong zone in a video game and almost get your ass handed to you? Yeah, we had that happen.

Mewkow
Still slowly taking down the inside Xmas decorations, the outside were dutifully taken down the weekend after New Year’s Day. Had a decent setup at the new house.

After catching up in the Mandolarian, and seeing the latest saga movie, AND bravely watching the entire Star Wars special (with a little help from riff trax), we have started the clone wars viewing with the intent to complete that 6-7 season show.

Tons of time in FF14 as of late. With about 5 active ‘alts’ in a game that you don’t need to alt in, there is plenty to be done. That means I’ll have done the Shadowbringer MSQ 5 times, and yes it is that good. Also working on dragging others along for the fun when possible. Completed the Eden raids, and the Nier raid a few times, but have not touched the Eden Savage raids yet, and have no desire to go anywhere near the Alexander Ultimate. Explain that fight a bit. Touch on crafting/gathering.

Past week, taking a short break every now and then to poke around FO76. They have the Wastelanders beta coming out this month, and I wanted to be ready to go when that happens. Slowly moving forward in the Pioneer scouts challenges.

Very little time in WoW lately. Seems like the raid scene is on hiatus until the patch. Here’s hoping they solve the absence of tier sets and fix or mitigate the azerite armor.

Tetsemi
Finished the MSQ up through patch 5.1 in FFXIV on my bard, and now working on the Order of the Twin Adder grand company progress as well as leveling up my Red Mage (which is apparently changing a bit in 5.2) as well as my Samurai.

Other than logging in for guild numbers and guild clean up, pretty much took most of December and beginning of January off of WoW, but looking forward to patch 8.3 and if any of the systems will be interesting to me. Oh, I did do the Anniversary LFR with the raid team and got the World Breaker mount, but the pull of FFXIV was too strong to entice me to stay engaged in WoW to do either Korak’s revenge or level any alts.

No D&D on break, however, the group has gotten sucked into the new Force & Destiny system for Star Wars and created a Sentinel Shadow who is hunting down Dark Side force sensitive and force users. Really looking forward to learning a new system and rolling the dice again. Will be the first game our whole family will be playing in that’s not a one-shot, guest appearance, or run this character because the player is out.

Also, we watched all 8 episodes of the Mandalorian, and can’t wait for more. If the Kenobi series is going to be anything like the Mandalorian, especially the two episodes Deborah Chow directed, I can not wait. So ready for some non-Skywalker series that explore more of the Solo and Rogue One type environments and stories, bring it on!

WoW Retail has been the last game division of AIE to still use the current UMAMI system for applications and invites. Based on how other divisions of AIE operate and the ongoing issues some of our members are experiencing with UMAMI authenticating accounts, the WoW directors have gotten together to discuss WoW Retail policies regarding the use of this system.

After careful review and with a bit of sadness, we are officially announcing that WoW Retail will no longer require applications in order for characters to be invited into the guilds on Horde side nor the guild on Alliance side.

In addition to this change, we will start using the current Blizzard in-game Guild Recruitment system to open up select co-guilds each month to recruiting players new to AIE. We have been silently testing this system on the Alliance side for over a month with success. This means that not only are we recruiting new members to AIE, our current members will be able to request a guild invite when officers are offline through this system. To use the new system in-game, press J and select “Guild Finder” from the lefthand menu. From there, enter “alea iacta est” in the search box and you can request an invite to that co-guild from the next available officer.

In summary, UMAMI applications are no longer a requirement for WoW Retail.

The AIE Secret Santa Event

Join the AIE family in Final Fantasy XIV Online this Holiday season as they enjoy the annual Starlight Celebration in-game event. It’s always an exciting time of year for FFXIV; however, there’s more!

AIE is hosting a “Secret Santa” event open to members of the Free Company. It will be hosted, in-game and on discord, on Sunday, December 22nd, beginning at 9PM Eastern time. We understand that attendance can be difficult with all our varied time-zones and schedules. The event begins at 9PM Eastern, but will last well into evening. If you are unable to attend, one of Santa’s helpers, Durus or Kelseer, will hand deliver your gift or send it to you via Moogle.

Participation is easy. Fill out the Google form at https://forms.gle/rd7HftEccxCz6kPi9 . Time is short this year, contact us as soon as possible! We will need to know the following:

  • Character’s Full Name
  • Character’s Gender
  • Will you attend the in-game event, and when do you expect to be online?
  • One thing you love about Final Fantasy Online

Gifts are expected to be any item you can trade within the game. Try to keep the value of the gift under 500,000 gil. These are meant to be endearing, fun items traded within the game to celebrate the Holiday. Do not be taken in by the Market Board Grinches. If you would like assistance crafting a gift for your secret Santa, we may be able to put you in touch with someone who can make the gift. You may be expected to arrange for the materials. Santa’s Helpers will work out the details with you.

Everyone have a safe and happy Holiday season. We’d love to share some of this year’s happiness and excitement of the holidays with you in Final Fantasy XIV Online.

Marcus and Nick are joined by Slayer this week. Nick talks about his experiences playing Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, and the group breaks down the first two episodes of The Mandelorian.

Highlights from WCN
2019 was a great year for Working Class Nerds.
-We had an AIE show discussing all the games that we play
– We had the Bioware team on 2 times with Musco and Matt Pucevich on. We broke the news on the first boss in the new operation.
– We had Holly Fields on the show who was Nadia Grell in game. It was so amazing to hear all about voice acting. Also we topped it off getting her to tell us “Shut up Max!”

Guild Highlights
Summer of Love 2019

In WoW we had a World Quest Party, a Kirin Tor Tavern Crawl, held our annual Remembrance day the Shrine of the Fallen Hero, COOP’ed the Alliance, and had a lot of fun at Dark Moon Faire!

In SWTOR they held a MEGA Event, a MFN event, and held their Remembrance day in Juran Mountains on Alderaan.

In FFXIV they had a special MFN and met at the Free Company house for Remembrance day.

In STO they held an event on Risa (not Rishi) and met at the Memorial at Wolf 359 for Remembrance Day.

In Eve they got together in Discord to join in Remembrance Day.

In GW2 they had a special MFN, ran dungeons with Maellung, and met at Lion’s Arch on the Field of the Fallen for Remembrance Day.

In LOTRO they met on the Hill behind the Prancing Pony in Bree for Remembrance Day and held a special MFN Edition.

Nomads
Last month worth doing an old style Nomads raid in Lotro. Next stop will be GW2

WoW Classic
Nevermore has given us one heck of an update on WoW Classic!

WoW Classic launched just a few months ago on August 26th, 2019 and our Horde AIE Guild on the Pagle server has been thriving! :tada: We are constantly hovering close to the max guild limit of 1000 members. So occasionally we purge characters who have been offline the longest. If this happens to you, just jump back into AIELFO to request an invite again!

We got the guild set up – as soon as server issues allowed! – And were able to nickel and dime… Oh, we mean “silver & copper” our way to 10g to purchase our guild tabard within three days!

We waited a few weeks for guildies to have time to log in and create their characters and then all gathered together for our first huge AIE group photo!

Special shout out to our AIE Greeters in WoW Classic: Eagle, Kazrik, & Adande! Thank you for helping with invites when an Officer is unavailable. We appreciate you!

A main goal in WoW Classic was to bring back one of the guild’s cherished traditions… the AIE Guild Craft Faire which was held in Undercity on November 17th, 2019!

It wasn’t easy, but we did it! >.< Storage was a huge issue for us without guild banks and very limited bag space. Artisan level mats were extremely limited, mostly because our max level guildies needed them and a lot of members aren’t able to help gather them yet. But overall we had the majority of mats needed for a bunch of guildies to make progress with their professions.

Thank you to everyone that donated gold and mats especially when we only had about a month of prep time before the event!

Huge THANK YOU to the volunteers on the AIE Guild Craft Faire Professions Teams. This event would never have been able to happen again without all of you crazy, dedicated, and wonderful guildies! The amount of time and effort you put into planning and organizing behind the scenes is greatly appreciated. And it means a lot that you offered to help out!

Since our Craft Faire “test” was successful, we are already planning to host another one sometime in the spring of 2020! We could always use more volunteers… wink wink
Raid planning is happening and we are coordinating with United Orgrimmar and other guilds within the “United Federation of Guilds”. So keep an eye on the WoW Classic Discord channel for more info. And to find out more about a fun unannounced event happening sometime in December!

There’s a lot going on so if you’re interested in playing with us log into WoW Classic and create a Horde character on the Pagle realm! To request an invite in game /join aielfo or ask in the Discord LFO channel because would love to have you with us in WoW Classic!

I hope you have a Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays! And I look forward to all of our adventures in 2020!

FOR THE HORDE!

Love,
Nevermore

AIE Guild Master in WoW Classic

WoW
We started an Alliance branch of AIE on Earthen Ring-US and are gathering folks to raid one night a week on it. If you’re interested, message Syreyne in game or AIE Discord.

We’ve had an influx of new and returning guildies to retail WoW since BlizzCon and a BIG WELCOME to them! Gustytail also really enjoyed the Search for Uuna pet event and intends to do more of these. We will be seeing more of Uuna in Shadowlands, which makes sense because she’s a ghost. Guild events are a lot of fun and we all hope more people take part in 2020.

We had a really great time remembering Ralff with Ralff’s amazing race in February of this year. And it’s an annual event, so look for detail upcoming in January for 2020’s Ralff’s Amazing Race!

Second Annual Ralff’s Amazing Race

Just a note from Kini- NoobRaid will be on holiday break for December 21, 28, and January 4th. Our adventures will resume on January 11th where bosses will die, loot will drop, and Kini will demonstrate how great she is a floor tanking.

SWTOR
And, from Max we have all the SWTOR News that’s fit to print! Um, Podcast.
We have hosted a bunch of nice events this year with MEGA hitting its one year mark in july. The best part it still happens every month.

Dec 10th it will be a special holiday edition of MEGA/MFN. 9pm for some fun and even a pod race around the fleet!

So far in 2019, the SWTOR division has had:
300 Command Ranks achieved by countless characters in our guild “Summer of 300”
253 characters at the new expansion level cap of 75
90 guild Conquest weekly objectives completed
47 Mandatory Fun Nights
47 SWTOR Escape Pod Cast episodes
26 Working Class Nerds podcast episodes
11 Monthly Epic Guild Activities
5 Operations Teams including a new one added this fall
4 guild ship rooms unlocked through guild group efforts
2 IRL meetups (at Star Wars Celebration in Chicago and the NYC Cantina)
1 expansion with tons of guild events around “6.0 – Onslaught”

Welcome to all the new guild members, especially in the last month, and a huge thank you to the entire AIE SWTOR crew for continuing to come together to keep the fun going in 2019.

Also resource nodes will drop double crafting mats. This event also allow players to earn 2 event tickets daily to spend at the Impresario on Indrik berries, outfit styles, and Indrik feathers.

While it hasn’t been announced yet, there is usually a holiday event called the New Life festival in late December as well.

MFN is on Friday nights at 9pm EST and we take part in activities related to the scheduled events, clearing zones, and enjoying the Mandatory Fun. Throughout 2019 we’ve had dragon hunting parties, helped people obtain pets from public dungeons, done a tour of guild members homes, and of course jumped off a few cliffs.

STO
From Grebog- The fleet in STO has done a lot in the past year.

The fleet holdings have made some major progress over the year unlocking some of the best in game consoles for everyone

The game added lots of new content and more ways of making it even easier to come and play.

EVE
From Crazy Uncle Lanc- The folks in Eve spent the year planting their flag and then moving ad infinitum. But seriously, the moved at least 3-4 times, if not more, and are living up to the name Space Murder Hobos.

GW2
From Maellung, This year in Guild Wars we got a new “Living World” called the Icebrood saga. MFN is still running on Monday night, ts and there are things in the planning stages so please stay tooned

LOTRO
And, from Maellung, Lotro received changes to the virtue system as well as a new expansion pack, Minas Morgul. As a guild we hosted AIE’s nomad raid. In the raid and in the weeks following we walked guildmates through the starting area. We had our mandatory fun on Sat. nights with SNL. We are currently looking forward to the Yuletide Festival from 12/12- 1/7. We also look forward to many more fun Sat. nights with SNL.

We’ve added a roles notification bot to our Discord server. What this enables is the ability to send notifications (Discord alerts) to anyone that is interested in them, by category. It’s completely opt-in and works in the following two parts.

Pick Your Notifications: You start by selecting the notifications you are interested in getting. You do this by going into the #welcome channel and clicking the corresponding emoji for each of the channels you’d like to see notifications from. At any time, you can return to that post and click again to remove yourself from those notification categories.

Send Notifications: To send a notification to everyone that’s opted-in to a channel category, simply “at” that channel. e.g. “@aie-wow noob raid is about to begin!” Everyone who has elected to see those notifications will then get a regular Discord alert in whatever Discord clients they have running.

For now, we’ve set up the notification categories to match all the major game division channels. The intent of the system and bots like this is that everyone can have control over what alerts they would like to see, and we all can also make much better use of the ability for everyone to use Discord alerts. We (and you) can now ping members about fun things going on in game, in Discord chat, in broader game news, etc. without having to resort to using @here and @everyone, which we rarely do. Feel free to make use of the alerting while also being mindful that you will be pinging everyone who’s opted in for that category.

Let us know if you have any questions in the #it channel or by asking an officer. Enjoy!

If your WoW Classic main is caught up on professions, you are welcome to bring an alt to work on one! We have a bunch of guildies who like to help each other but that are stubborn to accept the help! And we do not have many Artisan level mats this time (due to limited gathering time, and max levels are using or selling them for mount money etc)

WoW Classic – AIE Craft Faire

For NOOB raid tonight, we are doing either the Anniversary Raid or the Time Walking Raid

SWTOR
Our operations teams are dipping their toes into the new operation – The Nature of Progress. Maybe now would be a good time to remind everyone that guildie Sakic is conducting a game-wide kill bounty contest for the last boss. The prize is a billion credits. Dates and other specifics have not been announced yet, but they will be on SWTOR Escape Pod Cast soon.

Speaking of operations, we have a new team that meets on Sunday nights on the Imperial side. Their team name is TACO (Total Annihilation Clearing Ops). They are off to a good start, but are still in need of one DPS. If you would like to run with TACO on Sunday nights, contact Albus via discord.

This past Tuesday, the guild celebrated the launch of the first episode of The Mandalorian by having a bounty hunter-themed MFN. We dressed up in our best mando armor and had a beach party (of course). Afterwards, we roamed the galaxy wreaking havoc on world bosses. Discussions of the show can be had in the newly reopened Star Wars Spoilers discord channel. We also had a little birthday party for guildie Thaan, sponsored by his two sons. It was a great MFN overall.

FFXIV
Every night is a super awesome crafting night, with the new Ishgard restoration project!
Lots of AIE folks helping each other out with the new crafting systems, and the XP bonuses are HUUGE!

Abo and crew are looking for more people to run on Tuesday and Thursday raiding, no experience required.

We’d love you to be in the FC, but if you are committed elsewhere but are on the Crystal Datacenter, you are welcome to come along.

There is a Fellowship and Cross-world linkshell, as well as the #ffxiv channel in Discord.
Fridays are all request nights, but we need you to make those requests. Making the requests earlier in the week helps us all out in scheduling the events. Things such as optional dungeon unlocks, Alexander or Omega runs, Treasure Maps, Gold Saucer parties are all great ideas. We know you have other ideas that we have never thought of, so let us know so we can all get together for Friday Fun Nights.

Oh, and join us for Copied Factory runs if you are looking for that 2B glamour. We can help you through the encounters, and you will have less competition to get that cosmetic.

Plus the raid is still totally awesome.

ESO
The Undaunted Event in game was scheduled to start this week, but due to technical difficulties it has been disabled. There is currently no eta on when or if it will happen this year.

LOTRO
11/21-11/25 +25% xp boost.

There is stuff in the planning stages no official dates of upcoming guild events. Keep an eye in the #lotro channel for upcoming events

And with that, let’s get back to Grebog and find out what’s going on in STO!

GAME NEWS
Return of The Breach! This TFO (task force operation) event is back. You have until December 3 at 10AM PT. This event is working towards unlocking another free T6 ship on top of the standard event rewards, which is a Universal console.

They have added another Fed and KDF ship, the Strike Wing Escorts. And something that is a strike wing has to have a shuttle bay to hold you wingmen.

And as always, they are always adding more content, like about a week ago, they added three more patrol systems. Kinbar, Nassordin, and Zahl are the newest patrols added.

Fleet Holdings: The fleet is doing great, but as always can use more duty officers and a few other resources.

The colony is working toward completing Tier II in all branches, including the core.
Embassy is working on the Diplomacy Tier II project.
K-13 has been moving along nicely and is almost at Tier II across the board.

Lifetime subscription sale is still going. You have until November 21st to get $100 off. This brings it down to $199.99. And if you are going to spend a decent amount of time in STO, I highly recommend it as you will get your money back just on the 500 zen a month stipend. This is not counting the veteran ships, playable Talaxian, and so much more.

Black Friday is coming and there are always sales from zen bonuses, to zen store discounts.

Bounty hunting is a complicated profession. Don’t you agree?

This Tuesday, November 12th marks the launch of The Mandalorian live-action Star Wars series coming to Disney+. We are all eagerly awaiting what looks to be a gritty, hard hitting series by Jon Favreau.

To celebrate, we are going to turn our regular Tuesday Mandatory Fun Night into a Mandalorian themed special event. Dress as best you can to fit in with the AIE Mando Clan and we’ll meet up, show off our armor, and find something to hunt.

8pm central, Imperial side, Star Forge.

NOMADS
Play Outer Worlds, the best Fallout of recent years.

Diablo IV was announced at Blizzcon and is a much darker version of Diablo, more like Diablo II in tone and graphically play. It will also be an open world, so much so, that you will need mounts to travel through the world. There is a hub city where you can meet other players, show off your armor/weapons as well as a PvP area.

WoW
Noob Raid will be running the Anniversary Event (LFR) that launches on Tuesday. Reminder that Noob Raid runs on Saturday at 11pm Eastern.

Blizzcon Wrap Up
New expansion, entitled Shadowlands, was announced and is up for pre-sale. There are 3 tiers, so read carefully what’s in each.

Level squish is coming, Level 120 becomes level 50, and you’ll level 50-60 in Shadowlands. Levels 1-10 will be in the race specific starting area OR you can choose to level in the new level 1-10 zone that people new to the game will also start in.

Once you level 10, you’ll go visit Chromie and be given the choice of which expansion you want to level through. You can choose Mists of Pandaria, and you will level 10-50 in Pandaria, with the option to move to another expansion, however you will start at the beginning of the story of that expansion.

Your first character through Shadowlands will have to do all the zones, but once you finish the story, any alts will start with all endgame content unlocked at level 50 and can start progressing through it immediately. They can also choose which zone they want to level in, unlike your first character which will be going through zones in a specific order.

If you want to read a ton of good write-ups, visit https://blizzardwatch.com/2019/11/03/blizzcon-2019-roundup/ and enjoy!

WoW Classic
Reminder that Sunday, November 17th is the AIE Guild Craft Faire, we are still looking for donations, gatherers, and helpers for the faire. Please contact @Nevermore in #wow-classic channel or in game.

WoW Classic – AIE Craft Faire

On Sunday November 10th from 1pm Server/Eastern Time until done, Tynchal is organizing a Craft Faire Mats “Raid” beginning at Camp Tarajo in The Southern Barrens. We need lots of Light and Medium Leathers, so we’ll sweep both sides of The Gold Road. This works best to have “tanks” killing and looting with skinners following behind cleaning up. Depending on the “tanks” strength, a skinner/healer would be welcome. Please comment here with your abilities if you can attend. The Camp Tarajo plan is to work all the way toward Razorfen Crawl, whacking pig men as well as beasts. Then up the other side of The Gold Road, starting with the excavation site and all the way up to The Northern Barrens finding harpies, kolkars, more pig men and beasts, beasts, beasts. If there are enough raiders, the plan is to split up into areas. We should be able to gather cloth as well as LW mats and anyone who is a flower picker (lots of Briarthorn) or miner can pick and dig undisturbed. Come one, come all! Tynchal’s CF bank alts will all be in Rachet at the bank to accept LW mats. Hope to see you at Camp T!

SWTOR
Onslaught is now live and it has really been a game changer. The new gearing system is in full swing. Each piece of new gear you acquire is bind-to-legacy, so as your main gears up, your alts can equip the discards. In most situations, loot is determined according to your gear level, so alts don’t have to start over at point zero. It’s a pretty deep system that will grow in complexity and variation at end game gear level. But for simple vertical gearing it’s very easy to understand and be successful at.

Leveling from 70 to 75 can be accomplished through the story and does not take long at all. By the end of the story, you will have full 268 gear. Equip every upgrade you get so that the gearing system gives you more upgrades!

The launch went pretty smoothly with only one server restart about an hour after launch. Not to say there haven’t been bugs–Like the Imperial travel option that lands you in a Republic base! Or the bug where the group finder puts your 8 man team into a 16 man Operation. Fun times!

Crafting and crew skills also got a bit of an overhaul. Crafting is truly not for the faint of heart this time around even though it was tweaked somewhat after feedback on the public test server.

Players can now purchase the HK-55 chapter from the Cartel Market. It gives you access to a special chapter of gameplay and then account-wide access to HK-55 as a companion.

During MFN on launch day, the guild concentrated on leveling. That weekend Marcus put together an opsalong to help everyone with gearing. Throughout the week we’ve been running flashpoints to that same end.

MEGA this month will be on Friday November 15th at 9PM Eastern where we will do Onslaught stuff!

Ops teams are looking forward to trying out the new operation, “The Nature of Progress”, when we get our gear levels up. But, in the meantime there is a lot to do!

BCavanagh has updated the Conquest calculator for 6.0 – https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GoP6oVUROvpujs70ro6pSP3yH-Ez_zRYGnyEVViWEs8/edit?usp=sharing

STO
Jem’hadar veteran rewards are now available to lifetime subscribers. This includes a Jem’hadar Vanguard Heavy Destroyer.

Lifetime subscription sale going on now until Nov 21st. $100 off, so it is currently $199.99.

Also, until November 14th you can create Gamma Recruits again. This gives you added rewards for meeting various goals. The rewards are account wide for most of the rewards.

Also, black friday is coming, so if you have had your heart set on a ship or something else in the C-store, every year there are sales around black Friday. Time to buy more ships than you know what to do with…

EVE
Settled for the most part in our temporary home, sounds like coalition will be moving again end of the year to our new temporarily permanent home (cuz its eve). Sounds like a new coalition maybe a reality (opsec maybe?)

Speaking of Eve, or those to play Eve, Huck’s daughter is currently in labor so he’s gonna be a first time Grandpa! Sounds like Grandpa Huck is gonna need some Isk to buy diapers!

GW2
The new build template system has arrived! Be sure to log in and claim the free build slot expansion (and revive orb) from the gemstore! It is uncertain how long the free boost will remain there. There have been many complaints to Arenanet about their…uh…enthusiastic triple monetization scheme and they are taking the resulting player feedback “under consideration”.

In case you haven’t finished the achievements yet, the running Shadows of the Mad King Halloween event ends on Nov 5th around noon PST

And from the last Arenanet livestream, we have been told that the first chapter of the Icebrood Saga, “Whisper In The Dark” is due for release on November 19th

LOTRO
The Minas Morgul expansion was pushed back and is scheduled to be released on November 5th. The Havestmath was also extended through November 11th. SNL still going great from 7:30-9:30 Max time on the landroval server.

And with that, let’s get back to Dankinia and Sparrow and find out what’s going on in Elder Scrolls Online.

GAME NEWS
The Dragonhold DLC patch launched October 21st which is the final segment for the Season of the Dragon. It brought a new zone, new main and side quests, and some nice base game improvements.

The Witches festival was extended an extra week and the usual MFN mentions.

At Blizzcon – @Lanctharus
Still firming up the final details, but there will be activities starting on Tuesday October 29th and going through Sunday November 3rd. Mostly meetups for Food, Badging, Panels, and more Food!

Keep an eye on the https://aie-guild.org blog for more details.

Virtual Blizzcon – @Syryne and @Turarts
We will have an online meetup for Contest Night. Syreyne is hosting one for Overwatch finals.

Mostly likely we will have one for opening ceremony and mostly likely one for final concert.

Others may pop up, but we can’t say for sure without the published schedule of events/panels, so keep an eye on the https://aie-guild.org blog for posts.

We will have a #blizzcon voice channel for the events and for virtually hanging out during Blizzcon.

NOMADS
Destiny2
* Folks seem to be having fun, and have reached accomplished PvP ranks and gear levels in the 950+ range.
* These high levels mean they’re eligible for the current raid content. No reported victories yet.
* The PvP themed Iron Banner has returned.
* Always defer to discord for clan chat, it’s far too frequently missed in-game.

ESO
The two recent prologue quests (we did them as part of MFN the week they launched) are part of the base game and lead up to the opening on Southern Elsweyr which will be the new location available with the Dragonhold DLC which comes out on October 21st for PC/Mac. The new area is about the size of Clockwork City and has the continuation of the Season of the Dragon’ main quest, new delves, and of course new side quests. There will be new plant life and unique beasts that roam the area which had a near-apocalyptic past. Most of the dragons that were released stayed in the northern part of Elswyer, however some did venture to the southern area and there will be two new types of dragons to hunt (storm and frost types).

MFN is till every Friday night at 9pm est. We run dungeons, do zone clears of skyshards, kill world bosses, and take part in events.

The next event should be the Witches Festival which will probably have an exp buff as well as the berries and feather for the Indrik mounts.

STO
Another free T6 ship token project has started. And the Kobayashi Maru event has started and goes until November 7th.

EVE
Just getting settled into our new home. Move ops (evacuation) is setting down.

GW2
Shadow of the Mad King event is live through November 5. Shadow of the Mad Kings is the Halloween event. New skins and infusions this year, as well as the previous rewards. The candy corn gobbler and the home instance candy corn node are back for convenient (if semi-random) buffs!

LOTRO
Minas Morgal is still available for pre-sale. The new expansion is scheduled for an October 29th release date. If you have pre-purchased Minas Morgul the new race, Stout-Axe Dwarves is available to play right away. Harvestmath festival is currently running through November 5th.

And with that, let’s get back to Max and Sema and find out what’s going on in SWTOR.

GAME NEWS
It’s the weekend before the dawn (or early afternoon–or possibly late evening) of the launch of Onslaught. People are tidying up their inventories, finishing up any quests they may have lurking in their logs, and spending all the currencies that are going away. The new expac, which comes this Tuesday the 22nd, will have a city in a hollowed out asteroid, a return to the ancient planet of Onderon, a new Operation, a new flashpoint, a new race, 5 more levels, new crafting, and new things to discover. New characters will emerge and new stories. If you are thinking of trying swtor, this week might be the week. Not too long ago, restrictions on free-to-play were greatly relaxed, too.

On Saturday of this week, AIE will be involved in an epic Operations crawl where loot will fall like rain. Seriously, there is a lot of loot to be had. The ops are synched to level 70, so you won’t have to get to max level to join in. The new Operation, which is a longer term goal, will be set for level 75.

Tonight and tomorrow (Sunday and Monday) are the last two days of a galaxy-changing cartel market sale. You can get deals on character names, slots and appearance options, decorations for player housing, companions, pets, dyes, armors, and lastly, unlocks. If you have that toy (or emote, or light saber crystal,or or or)you love to use, but have not unlocked for all your characters, you still have time. The sale lasts until Monday night.

Optional topics depending on where the conversation goes:
Deeper dive on what’s in the expansion
How we prepared (or failed to finish preparing) this week
What we expect the next month or two to be like for AIE in SWTOR
AIE SWTOR stuff like ops teams, MEGA, MFN, Conquest and how it all continues to work
RoS last trailer coming tomorrow night, tickets also go on sale
