Join AIE in ESO on Friday at 8pm central/9pm eastern for a special Greymoor launch Mandatory Fun Night!

Dankinia in ESO!

As some of you might know, the next Chapter of Elder Scrolls Online, called Greymoor, comes out on Tuesday, May 26th.  The new chapter will take us into Western Skyrim and Blackreach which will be familiar to those of us who have spent hours upon hours playing TES V:Skyrim. However since ESO is set in the past, it won’t look exactly the same and there will be new secrets to uncover.

Since long journeys to new areas can be daunting alone, feel free to join our brave group of adventurers on Friday, May 29th at 9pm est as we venture into the new zone for the first time together. We will pick up the new area starting quest, journey to Solitude, and work though a few of the initial quests together as a group. While I don’t know what challenges and stories the new zone will have for us, I do know we will probably get lost a few times and I’ll probably lead us off a cliff at least once. Ok, maybe twice.

If you do choose to join us, and I hope you will, please make sure you have a character that you haven’t done any of the Greymoor quests on available so we all start at the same place. It can be a new character you’ve just created and only done the brand new tutorial with, or a grizzled veteran character that has finished a majority of the zones.

Back when Summerset launched we put together a similar party of adventures to explore the zone together for the first time during an MFN event. We’ve done so for every chapter, prologue quest series, and DLC since and have had a great time laughing, exploring, and chatting about our initial thoughts on the new content. Don’t miss this latest excursion into new content with us!

We also live stream the event at https://twitch.tv/dankinia so if you are curious about the game or just want to see our shenanigans, feel free to watch us as we step into Western Skyrim for the first time as a group.

Help! We are being overrun by Void Beetles and Left Sharks, and all the other pets in our menagerie are going crazy! We need you to join us on June 7th for an Emergency Pet Adoption Day!

For this special AIE event, Gustytail and I will be hanging out in Discord voice all afternoon with prepared adoption papers for a whole ton of World of Warcraft pets and a few mounts! This event is open to everyone in World of Warcraft, both Horde and Alliance, on Earthen Ring. All you need to do is pop in for a visit, hang out with a few of our pets, and take your favorite home! And if you have extra kittens (or other beasts), bring them by and we’ll find a home for them for you!

On Sunday June 7th from 12pm to 5pm ET/Server, we will be giving away pets, accepting donated pets, and generally having a fantastic time. Then when there’s no one at the counter for a pet, we’ll be leveling some allied races and streaming it in Discord.

If anyone would like to help or has any questions, please contact Gustytail or Syreyne in guild Discord. Spread the word!

Season 20 marches on. The new PTR previewing the next patch 2.6.9 starts on Thursday, May 21st and lasts for 2 weeks. Details for this PTR, how to participate in and what to focus on to aid in testing of the patch can be found at: https://us.diablo3.com/en/blog/23420227/patch-269-ptr-begins-521-5-15-2020

Destiny 2
Season the Worthy lasts until 9 Jun. Guardian Games have concluded with Titans dominating the event. For the events of this past week, including some community spotlighted videos you can always check the Bungie website: https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/49027

The Clan does have openings, and make sure you mention in the #destiny2 channel of discord that you’ve applied and make sure you’re not currently in a clan when submitting an application. Apps can be approved but you will need to drop your current clan to accept the invite.

WoW
We have about 40 approved applications on the Virtus (alliance side) that just need to go back in and accept. I sent emails in game to let them know as well. I triple dog dare them to accept it!

Noob Raid is still doing amazing and running two groups.

@Koochikoo-Gustytail and Syreyne are hosting a new event for WoW, both Horde and Alliance.

AIE Adopt-A-Pet Day

Sunday June 7th from 12pm to 5pm ET/Server

Help us! We are being overrun by Void Beetles and Left Sharks, and all the other pets in our menagerie are going crazy! So we have decided to hold an Emergency Pet Adoption Day!

Details will be in the blog. Please help share this across WoW on both sides. We will also be creating guild event posts on the in-game calendar as well.

SWTOR
May the 4th brought everyone a new astromech, which Max promptly added to his dwindling supply. We also, used the fourth as an excuse for a party version of MFN. We unlocked the last rooms on both flagships, had a Hutt race, and blew each other up with huttballs. You may have seen a shot in discord of us all disguised as Hutts, filling up the ship elevator to way beyond capacity.

Friday the 15th was the first meeting of Flashpoint Fun. It’s an opportunity to run the Master Mode Flashpoints needed to achieve the Aratech Ice speeder. Maellung will be running it roughly every two weeks and will continue until everyone has their speeder. It started on the Imperial side, but depending on interest, may run on the Republic side as well.

May’s MEGA is coming up on the 22nd. Marcus is going to lead us in a datacron crawl. He has gotten people stationed at some of the trickier ones so that we can use the flagship to summon people. If you don’t have all your datacrons yet, this will be a great opportunity to fill is some gaps.

Guildie Spicolee has started a new Ops team. They are going to meet on Monday nights (8:30PM to 10:30PM Eastern) on the Republic side. They need one more DPS and then they are ready to roll! The team’s name is WtC-? (Where’s the Cantina?)

The collections unlock sale ends tomorrow!

ESO
When Greymoor launches, Update 26 comes out as well which is a base game patch. In that patch, they have overhauled the Vampire skill line and changed the way players afflicted with that curses play. there will be new abilities along with replacements and updates to existing ones. It also changes the way you manage the four stages of the curse and to increase the stage as well as remain in stage 4 you’ll need to feed unlike now when the stage increases over time and doesn’t degrade. These changes mean a lot of players who have vampires just for the passives, might decide to cure it instead of keep it.

For MFN on May 29th we will be going into the new area together. If you plan on joining the fun, and you should, please hold off on doing the starting quests on at least one of your characters.

FFXIV
Like many things in our world today, Covid-19 has impacted Final Fantasy XIV’s patching schedule, delaying patch 5.3, Reflections in Crystal, by 2-4 weeks, putting the patch somewhere in the mid-July timeframe. With that said, patch 5.3 is shaping up some significant changes to the game, especially for new players.

The old MSQ, the game’s primary quest line that takes you from level 1 to max level and beyond, is being streamlined in the early game, removing about 13% of the game’s fluff quests. The MSQ experience is being revamped to provide all of the experience you need to level from 1-50 on its own. Another big change is to add the mounts to the MSQ (previously a side quest), adding the Crystal Tower Raids (Very Important to the story of Shadowbringers), and arguably the biggest change, flying in the original game lands!

For the FFXIV Vets out there, patch 5.3 will have the next installment of the highly anticipated Dark Apocalypse raid series, The Puppet’s Bunker. This will be a 24-player alliance raid. The next step of the Resistance Weapon upgrade will also be available on this patch. If you are a crafter and have your Skysteel Tool crafting relic, that will also have upgrades available as of this patch as well. A new beast tribe for the dwarves will be available for the crafters of the realm as well. In addition, a mystery trial is also available as part of the MSQ, which is FFXIV speak for “Spoilers, sweetie.”

We have a lot of community news today, which we will go over in a few!

STO
Hailing frequency are open.
– Fleet Night is going well. We currently meet on Earth Space Dock on Sundays at 8:30 PM Eastern. Any level experience is welcome. Phasers are set to fun!
– STO is in the middle of their 2nd Event for the T6 Campaign this year. These events progress us towards getting another T6 coupon for a ship out of the Zen Store.

EVE
Nothing out of the norm. Pew pew, make isk, pew pew 🙂

LOTRO
The anniversary event runs through the 20th. Only a few more days to try to finish up quests with the event and also to farm those steel tokens for your monster players. Another PvMP night is coming soon, so stay tuned to #lotro for more details.

And with that, let’s get back to Kelseer and Abovan and find out what’s going on in FFXIV.

GAME NEWS
Community Events.
Monday Night MFN. Questing content, instance groups, roulettes, ect.
Tuesday, All request raid legacy raid night. Old raids, mount farming, old extremes. Request it and we will try to accommodate.

Thursday, not an AIE event, but our first raid team is off the ground running, Noobs on Demand (NoD). Look for updates in the raid updates channel.

Saturday night map nights! Very popular event where we run maps!

Late Night Fish Club. Most nights, we have a handful of us doing the ocean fishing events at 2am EST.

The FC Crafting Projects are underway to create Airships and Submarines for run missions for the FC. Some of the potential rewards are tier 3 buffs for the FC, pets, and mounts that are only acquirable via the exploration missions. The crafting logs are posted to the website periodically for interested parties.

One of the rewards that the airships and subs bring back often are crafting shards, crystals, and clusters. These items can be provided to AIE membership at 10% under the market value. See an AIE officer for details.

In this installment of the Meet an AIE Officer series, we sit down with Bhock to answer a few questions for us.  Let’s begin.

Who are you and what do you do for AIE?

I am Bhock, the French Token Community Officer of AIE, but most WoW players know me as Lhylee, my healing priest in WoW. Being a Community Officer is about listening and being attentive, available when someone asks a question or requires some help. We are the Big Brothers and Sisters of a Community, not linked to a specific game but to the community itself.

What got you into AIE?

Unlike most AIE members, I came from EvE Online, and joined AIE via the Capstable Podcast, doing an industry and economic segment. I found camaraderie and mutual help in that close knit group (in a sea of EvE shenanigans), and a way to give back to the community, simply talking on a podcast. Since then I played with AIE on Wildstar, Elder Scrolls Online, World of Warcraft and The Division 2… and surely others I forgot about, along the way.

When did you feel that AIE was something special?

It was in summer 2013, at the Remembrance Day. Playing EvE at the time, we were at a monument dedicated to the largest MMO battle in history, a graveyard of ships, having a multi-game broadcast, shooting fireworks while listening to members talking about their personal life. Remembrance Day is special to me, as this is what a community is, and this Remembrance Day was unique, as my father was in the last stage of Alzheimer and died 3 days later.

What got you into being an officer with AIE?

A while back I received the highest french civilian distinction for community service, helping kids integrate in society and mix with other kids from various backgrounds, in a non-judgmental environment, through games. All my life I try to give more than I get, and help others that need help, never asking anything in return. It’s not selfish or virtuous, it’s a decision I took young, to live how I felt I should and simply be myself, leading by example. I’m that kind of dumb, but that’s who I am and will ever be. Every activity, job or game I ever been into, I ended in management (my fault, surely), so it was natural to return what I could to the community I’m trying my best to be part of (but life and work take their toll). I hope I had more time to be a good officer, so many officers do way more, and I salute them. Now I stream my WoW raiding nights (http://www.twitch.tv/lhylee) on both WoW Classic and Retail, and perhaps I’ll start streaming other games I’m terrible at. Kudos to all our community streamers.

What is the name of the award you received for your French Civilian Distinction award? Is there a web resources someone wanting to know more can visit (English if possible)?

Medaille d’or du Merite Associatif (Gold Medal of Community Merit) All this was in the 80s, before internet.

What sort of differences, if any, do you see in volunteering your time in real life to assist people playing games to a virtual community, such as AIE?

I am old school in the sense that I am an in-person individual (so the current social distancing is really hard on me). The physical handshake is of the greatest importance, a show of affection, sharing and acceptance of the other, on equal footing. Body language really helps in social interactions and being kind and forward really shows better in person. I think that’s also why all kids love me, as I treat them kindly, as equals, and I’m genuinely interested in what they have to say. Keeping eye contact is paramount for sharing. You can hide on the internet, and disconnect if needed, but you cannot in real life, so you have to sort and fix things out, now. It’s also more stress, but that’s because you are way more involved.

What is the craziest thing that you have seen AIE pull off?

Remembrance is so unique and mind bending, but having so many events in all those games, each day, that’s crazy: I could have several clones and not even scratch the surface of all that AIE does, as a community. Staying kid-friendly with all those people, that’s a tour de force and a testament to humanity. And having such a long running weekly community podcast, that’s amazing: I ended Capstable (French for the last 5 years) last Christmas, after 8 years of just monthly content.

For someone new to AIE, what advice would you give them?

Don’t hesitate to ask, don’t hesitate to try, don’t hesitate to come and be yourself. But never forget all the others are the same as you and want the same respect you are owed. Just play together, meet people, and don’t be shy: the world is full of great people to meet, and we presorted a sample for you. Failure is not an option, it’s part of learning, so if a game does not suit you, try another one: AIE offers a structure in a multitude of genres, and one will surely catch your interest and be compatible with your game time/style.

Thank you for your time, Bhock.

NOMADS
The first Division 2 Season (Shadow Tide) marches on. The current ongoing activity is the Home League that continues for another 8 days. Three of the four manhunts required to unlock the intel for the Season’s main boss event have been concluded.

Title Update 9 went live last week, and to celebrate: anyone who logs in before May 5 will receive a backpack trophy “Soda” and 3 Apparel Cache keys. This update features the exotic items reconfiguration that will allow you to “level up” your old exotics to current gear levels, and many bug fixes. Full notes are available at https://forums.ubisoft.com/showthread.php/2218056-Title-Update-9-Patch-Notes

There is also a free trial for the Division 2, playable for 8 hours up to level 8. Any progress made during the trial will be carried forward if the full game is purchased. Reach out to anyone in the AIE clan for friend referrals as well.

Friend Referral: https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/game/the-division/the-division-2/friend-referral

Clan activity has been low. I encourage members to reach out in the community discord’s #thedivision2 chat channel to arrange nights for play or ask for help.

Diablo 3
Season 20, Season of the Forbidden Archives, is still going strong and sees some AIE community members dipping back into the game here and there. Remember you have the “Alea Iacta Est” community and the Nomads clan at your disposal. Just ask for invites in the AIE community discord in channel #nomads. The season is scheduled to run “roughly three months” and just started on March 13th, 2020. There’s still time to jump in and have some fun.

Much of the news with Diablo is centered on the franchise’s heavily anticipated Diablo IV. In February, Blizzard began quarterly updates on this title. The first is available at https://news.blizzard.com/en-us/diablo4/23308274/diablo-iv-quarterly-update-february-2020

Destiny 2
Guardians class in friendly class competitions in the new event “Guardian Games.” Daily challenges provide opportunities for each class to achieve victory towards the reward, bragging rights, and a class specific decoration for the Tower public space that’ll serve as a reminder of their excellence for the remainder of the year until the next event. Daily rewards and details on the games can be found at https://www.bungie.net/7/en/Seasons/Events/GuardianGames

Bungie is partnering with Direct Relief once more in the Guardian Heart’s campaign to aid in the fight against COVID-19. For those who would like more information about this campaign: https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/48946

Remember you can also play much of Destiny 2 for free with Destiny 2: New Light. Access to much of the game and all its first 2 year pass campaigns and activities are available for free with some restrictions on content in the latest Shadowkeep expansion. Join for free and receive more information on this program at https://www.bungie.net/7/en/Destiny/NewLight

There are a few AIE members carrying on the fight in Destiny 2. Reach out to them to arrange playtimes and ask for help in the community discord’s #destiny2 channel. You may submit an application to join the clan at https://www.bungie.net/en/ClanV2?groupid=2122972

Officers are always available and paying attention in the #lfo channel. Don’t hesitate to shout out there for app approvals in any AIE game.

WoW
From Gustytail – We had great fun doing Volunteer Guard Day on both Alliance and Horde. It was a last minute idea and we racked up impressive scores killing invaders in Orgrimmar and Stormwind. We also accidentally killed Critho. Oops!

Invictus is the new co-guild for invites on the Horde side. Just use the in game guild finder to search for Alea Iacta Est and apply. Just a reminder, once your application is approved, you won’t get an in game notification, so make sure you go back to the Communities panel (J) and accept your invite.

Fezgig is the new officer. Come learn more about the newest AIE Officer here https://aie-guild.org/blog/2020/04/new-aie-officer-fezgig/ and make sure you listen to Episode 341 as well.

Officer spotlight article on Syreyne https://aie-guild.org/blog/2020/05/meet-an-aie-officer-syreyne-edition/ keep an eye out on the blog as more interviews are on the way!

Alliance guild is over 300 members!
HFO had 25 people Friday night!

Dankinia – Noob Raid has had 45-50 people attending the last few weeks so we have been running two groups with myself leading one, Syrene leading the other, and Gijora jumping back and forth as needed. It’s been a lot of fun and we tend to get 4-5 bosses down every Saturday night. If you would like to join us, there is no item level requirement. Just be in guild chat a little before 11pm est and watch for me to announce that invites are going out.

SWTOR
Have some conquest points with your conquest points. The latest changes to the Conquest system have everyone remarking on all the new ways to gain points as well as sparking conversations in the community and among guildies about whether the changes have made it TOO easy or whether there is some method behind Bioware’s madness. In the meantime, it’s definitely affected gameplay for many AIE’ers in swtor as they switch out characters more often to get personal targets met. It will be interesting to see how it goes once the initial hubbub dies down and we settle into the new normal.

The public test server is currently up, so people can work on testing the new Master Mode version of the current Operation, The Nature of Progress.

MFN still meets on Tuesdays at 9PM Eastern. This week we will be celebrating and opening the remaining rooms on both flagships. Also, BC has some fun things planned for the future. May’s MEGA will be a datacron crawl and will be on the 22nd. Now is a good time to jump into the game because we have a double XP event going on until mid June.

And last, but not least, May the 4th is Looci’s birthday as well as the birthday of guildie Racevan’s son! May the force be with us all.

STO
Tonight’s Fleet Night will be focused around the Winter Wonderland that Q brought back.

There is currently a double XP event going on.

Next week they will be running another event for a few weeks to work towards either a tier 6 ship or 1000 lobi crystals.

FFXIV
Map nights are still a super popular event and profitable for every attendee. Maps are greatly appreciated, but not required for attendance.

Tuesday night casual raid nights have been getting a lot of traction, with older raids being requested and fulfilled. Special Extreme mounts are also common activities, getting cool and unique mounts for all attendees.

Thursday night “Noobs on Demand” (NoD) is looking to start up this week. Look for updates on their successes in the raid activity channel.

Goblin, the server that AIE plays on is once again a Preferred Server. Many new players are starting up on our server, so plenty of new folks to adventure alongside with, since new characters will get the “road to 70 buff” giving you a MASSIVE xp bonus on all jobs under 70. So now is a great time to start up FFXIV with AIE. Drop by the #ffxiv channel for any questions or to meet the many AIE players of Final Fantasy XIV.

EVE
All operations within normal parameters. Military deployment is officially over. ISK making may resume. Translation: We’re all in Animal Crossing playing the Stalk Market

LOTRO
Lotro had a successful PvMP night last week. We had a lot of fun and if you missed it there will be more PvMP themed SNLs in the future. so if you missed the first one you will have a chance to join in next time. Standing Stone Games has extended its all content free-to-play through May 31st. If you are VIP or lifetime VIP as a thank you Standing Stone Games is giving all VIP a free medium carry-all.

And with that, let’s get back to Dankinia and find out what’s going on in ESO.

GAME NEWS
The next chapter for ESO, Greymoor, will launch on Tuesday May 26th for PC/Mac and on June 9th for consoles. Update 26 will go live at that time as well. For all players, Update 26 will have more server and client side optimization and stability improvements. For those that purchase the new chapter, we will be journing to Western Skyrim. The area should feel familiar to those that spent hours playing TES V: Skyrm because of the geography, however since we will be adventuring earlier in the timeline there will be new areas to discover. In addition, we will get to delve into the vast subterranean area of Blackreach.

One of the new systems that will be launched alongside Greymoor is the antiquities system. You join the Antiquarians Circle in the city of Solitude in Western Skyrim which will walk you through a tutorial quest explaining how the system works. The system will have two mini games and skill lines to go with them. There will be a variety of items you can get such as Mythic equipment, treasure to sell, motifs, furnishings, and a mount.

As usual, the Friday after the new chapter launches our MFN will be spent exploring the new zone together and maybe checking out the new Antiquities system. Our recent MFN activities have been random dungeon runs and public dungeon clears. Also one of our members, Thuggs, has created a course he calls “Golden Lessons” to provide tips and tricks to gold making in game.

Also ask Mew and Kini about Fallout 76

Wastelanders is here.

In the Meet an AIE Officer Series, we will corner an AIE officer with a few questions and see what answers come up with.  In this edition, we will talk with Syreyne!

Who are you and what do you do for AIE?

I am Syreyne. I am one of the game directors for WoW Horde and the game director for WoW Alliance. I am also the herder of cats. And I’m the owner of SAD, Sy’s Aquatic Distribution, a company that specializes in safety storing and distributing Left Sharks.

What got you into AIE?

I actually used to play only alliance on Earthen Ring. Every one on the blue side complained all the time about this horde guild (Alea Iacta Est) who razzed us and made life hard. So one day I made a blood elf rogue named Syreyne (because Siren was taken) and asked to join. I even put on my app that I was an officer in my alliance guild and that I’m only joining to spy. They still let me in.

When did you feel that AIE was something special?

I never really played Horde much since all my friends were in our alliance guild. But one day, everyone was talking about this yearly thing AIE did. So I was curious and tagged along. I was my first ever Remembrance Day. Something I will never forget. That’s when I knew AIE was something special and not just another guild in WoW. I was amazed at the support and the number of people that respected that event so reverently. After that, I was hooked.

What got you into being an officer with AIE?

I can’t remember what specifically it was, but I’m pretty sure it had to do with the Craft Faire. My first time doing it, I was just a helper, pretending to die, to draw people to first aid. The next time, I ran first aid. The third time, the Craft Faire director stepped down and somehow (not really sure how) I was put in charge.

What is the craziest thing that you have seen AIE pull off?

Let’s see. The Black Friday COOP event was epic. All the weddings in Stormwind Chapel, including my own.

Can you tell us a bit more about your wedding at Stormwind Chapel?  It being in hostile territory for the Horde and all..

So, we had bridesmaids and groomsmen and did the processional, coming up from the basement. The wedding was the weekend before my actual wedding. Spork and I got married in-game on August 1st. Our wedding was the COOP event for Summer of Love that year, so you know we had a blast keeping the Alliance from entering the doorway. Ralff did the ceremony. sniffle A week later, on August 8th, we got married in real life. We even had a few AIE members attend the live wedding, and some were in it! After the pastor announced us as man and wife, we all shouted For The Horde! Then some people freaked out because I jumped in the lake in my wedding dress…on purpose. smiles

For someone new to AIE, what advice would you give them?

I would say, the biggest thing I can tell you is to attend events that we put on, speak up in GreenWall (WoW), ask for help, talk in Discord. We are a very family friendly community, but there are a lot of us. If you put a little effort into getting to know some community members, you’ll be surprised by how many more will end up as a friend. You may even find a friend to play with in one of our other game divisions. One of the benefits we have is how large our community is and how diverse the members are.

If someone is shy and doesn’t know what to say, what would you suggest they say to introduce themselves to the community?

Start out small. You don’t need to tell everyone your life story. Just be yourself. Hop into an ongoing chat discussion. Or start a new one. Something easy. Say hey, I’m new to AIE, anything going on? Or like wiggly or crispy bacon? I love crispy! Or ask what’s your favorite Marvel movie? Mine is <insert>... Or you can be really brave and ask which is better, Star Wars or Star Trek?

Thank you for your time, Syreyne.

With the increased membership in our WoW Alliance division, we decided that we need some help processing invites, hyping the “blue” side, and keeping Syreyne in check. Please join us in welcoming Fezgig as the newest AIE Community officer!

As most know, AIE officer roles are filled based on the jobs we need done, by people who represent the very best of the AIE Community. Fezgig has been in the WoW guild for 10 years. He plays both Horde and Alliance in WoW. You’ll often find him jumping in to help with group content, giving away pets and transmog pieces, and filling in and helping out wherever he can. He will continue helping in his officer role by processing in-game guild applications, handling invites, welcoming new members, and recruiting more members for AIE overall, the Alliance side in particular, and the “Hell Froze Over” Alliance raid team.

Fezgig and his family hail originally from Utah, and now reside in the Midwest. You may have run into him at a past Nerdtacular and hopefully will again at a Midwest type meet up in the future someday. If you want to meet him virtually, take a listen to the AIE Podcast Episode #341 – Not the Wiggly Bacon, where he was one of the guest co-hosts.

Thanks Fez for joining the team!

For those not familiar, the AIE Council is a small group of officers tasked with working alongside the Officer Community to set baseline operating guidelines for the guild, maintain the AIE guild culture, help develop guild leadership, and provide overall planning guidance in the rare instances where needed at a guild-wide level.

The current council is made up of some active members and some founding emeritus members including: Scott, Veronica, Xanar, Randy, Stigg, Lanctharus, Ashayo, Hoots, Sema and Max. In order to balance a bit more toward the “active” members, we’ve decided to expand and bring on a new council member to help out. Please join us in welcoming Tetsemi to the council!

Tetsemi has been with the guild and helped lead since nearly its founding. His focus as a WoW Co-Director has continued to keep our WoW division strong and helped guide our expansion into WoW Alliance and WoW Classic. Tetsemi is also a long time co-host of our very own AIE Podcast (which everyone should be listening to fortnightly on Sunday evenings). When not podcasting or in WoW you can also find Tetsemi in and out of most of our other game divisions, on Twitter as @ivorytiger, or hanging out with his family (the lovely @cyberwaif and The Hordling) in Arizona.

Please join me in welcoming Tetsemi to this additional role in the guild!

Check out the Animal Crossing channel in Discord where we chat about turnip prices, who’s island has what stock in their shops, and social gathering in game on our various islands.

Lanc did a ACNH happy hour last night and was in channel along with Dankinia. Keep an eye out for future events, the #animal-crossing channel is hopping with ACNH questions and discussion.

Wasterlanders launched this week, and is a dramatic improvement on the game. We have actual Human NPCs finally, storylines, dialog choices, and just a general feeling of ‘Hey, this is a Fallout game’.

Division 2
Seasons are still going strong with the second manhunt target available now. Clan activity has trickled down a bit since launch. I recommend that you reach out to fellow Agents in Discord to look for groups and plan missions.

Diablo 3
Season 20 began on March 13: The Season of the Forbidden Archives. The buff this season allows you to equip any three items in the Kanai’s cube rather than restricting you to one from each category. Rewards this season include making the season 8 rewards available to any who missed them, and a new bat pet.

There’s more than a handful of folks who love to dive into each season and are willing to help you get started and knock off the season’s achievements and help you earn rewards. Seek them out in the nomad’s channel in discord.

Destiny 2
Did you know what Destiny 2 is free to play and is available on Steam? There are still some AIE members who love to run around in this game as well.

The new season in Destiny 2 is called “Season of the Worthy” and lasts through June 9th.
Link your Twitch Prime account with your Destiny account to receive drops each month.

Speaking of Steam, we do have an AIE Steam Group. It doesn’t get a lot of use given the community’s discord. However, if you’re more Steamy than Discordy, check it out.

WoW Classic

Zul Gurub (20 man, resets every 3 days, gear is raid-ish with a new reputation and a lot of class items to get) is out, and Silithus is being retaken by Cenarion Hold (Elf/Druids, new reputation), giving quite a lot of new things to farm

SWTOR

This Tuesday, 6.1.1 will drop. It will mark the start of a double XP event that will run for a month. Time to roll up that assassin you’ve been dreaming about. What’s not to love about striking out from the shadows with your double-bladed light saber!

Along with double xp will come some Conquest quality of life changes (more ways for instant travel!), class changes, and as host of bug fixes.

Next week also brings Bounty Contract Week and MFN will be on the Republic side.

On April 10th, Corley conducted our version of The Amazing Race for our April MEGA. It was a ton of fun and very well attended. Many thanks to everyone who helped out and attended! May Mega will be a Datacron hunt.

ESO

Greymoor, the next chapter (expansion) of ESO comes out on May 18th for PC. The new area will be familiar, yet different for anyone who played Skyrim. We will be visiting Western Skyrim, but much earlier in the timeline then we saw in TES: V Skyrim game. The expansion will also take us into the depths of Blackreach. A massive underground realm that the prologue quests we recently did just touched on.

MFN is Friday night at 9pm est. Join us for an escape from reality with friends while we run dungeons, clear zones, and laugh when Kini fall off cliffs.

FFXIV

Map Nights are still a major highlight, as we are fielding 2+ full groups for maps, excitement, and pockets lined with Gil. Anyone level 80+ is welcome to join in and bringing maps is not required, but highly appreciated. Map nights are Saturday Nights, 9:30pm EST. We coordinate via Discord Voice in the AIE FFXIV channel and we form up the groups in front of the AIE FC house. See you there, treasure hunters! (And bring those Skittles!)

Tuesday Night’s Fun Night is still going as a legacy raid night. Last week we completed most of Alexander Normal, completing The Father and Son Wings (Encounters A1N [Alex 1 Normal] to A18N [Alex 8 Normal]) on Tuesday night with some spill over to Friday night finishing off the Creator Wing (A9N – A12N). Alexander was the 8 player raid of the Heavensward Expansion, level 60. It’s a great story, with some great encounters. We hope to see you at the next Fun Night on Tuesday at 9:30pm EST. We gather up in the AIE FFXIV Voice Discord. Also, don’t forget, legacy raids are a great way to farm up some poetics, which end game folks could use to get some relic weapons, just sayin’.

Thursday nights are Extreme Night, where we strive to do more challenging content. These past couple of weeks we have been going into Eden Normals to assist in gearing up and to get comfortable with some of the mechanics that may be presented to us in Savage modes. We strongly encourage signups for this event, as the Savage content is not for the faint of heart. Please speak with Abovan or Durus for details on this raid team and access to the Raid Discord.

Looking for something that can only be purchased with FC credits to really hit the spot on your apartment, house, or FC room? Well then, speak to an officer to buy it for you. For a donation to the FC vault of 10Gil per FC point, you can have the FC purchase the item on your behalf. The gil goes right back into the FC vault to finance guild events.

The FC airships and submarines are in full force, bringing back tons of items for the FC to use. To see what they are bringing back, check out the blog posts on aie-guild.org.

That’s all for now, and enjoy your adventures in AIE and in Eorzea!

STO

There is a Fleet Night tonight at 8:30 PM Eastern.

The First Contact Event is still going on. This finishes up on April 30th. The new patrol for the event has a few neat easter eggs in it.
Starting April 24th and going through May 4th, the winter event will be coming back. Who thought it would snow in April. Damn it Q.

Sy: So before we get started on WoW news, this is the first time Fez has joined us on the Podcast. I just have a few important questions to ask……
Pancakes or Waffles?
Favorite Class in WoW?
Crispy or Wiggly Bacon?

Sy: Horde side is going great! We have a lot of raid teams pushing AotC and mythic. And we’ve had some raid teams coming back! Shout out to Filthy Casuals!. Speaking of them, Gusty has teamed up with some of their leadership to come up with an idea! The XP boost is great for leveling allied races right now, so they are asking people to group up together in guild chat, call it Filthy Leveling, and get those alts to 120 before Shadowlands.

Our current co-guild is Comitas, but we’re getting close to 500 in there. Once we do, we’ll be picking a new co-guild to set up for invites. Keep an eye in discord over the next few weeks for an announcement when that change happens.

Last weekend we had a FIRST in WoW in a long time!!! Noob raid ran TWO raid groups at the same time! Team One with Kini got 4 bosses down and Team Alpha with Sy (that’s me!) got 3 bosses down. So really, Noob got 7 bosses last week. We had about 40 people. Last night we killed 8 bosses and had 42 people!

Fez: Alliance side AIE Virtus celebrated it’s 1-year anniversary in March, with over 290 characters.

Recruiting: New people/alts joining just about everyday. It’s interesting how many AIE horde side are still unaware of the Ally team.

Hell Froze Over (HFO) raid team: Full 20 on Friday night – Normal Ny’alotha. Wrathion’s RNG gave us a little grief, then we finished off strong with one-shots Prophet, Maut, Dark Inquisitor, Hivemind. Took a couple of attempts at Ra-Den – team learning strat. People are still getting gear so we are continuing fresh runs each week. We have never turned anyone wanting to join away. We just ask for a minimum ilvl 410 and rank 1 cloak. We raid Friday night at 8pm-11pm ET and have many cross-realm friends, so all are welcome.

Mention at the End by Sy: Remember you can always find the guild officers in Discord in the #lfo channel or by pinging them @officers. And you can always request WoW guild invites via the in-game system by searching “alea iacta est” on both the Horde and Alliance sides, even if there are no officers online. Just remember, you have to go back to Guilds & Communities (J) to accept the invite once an officer approves it.

And that’s our show for tonight. While the chatroom begins suggesting show titles, we want to thank Syreyne and Fezgig for joining us.
